Mad World is one of my fav Xmas No1s, The Darkness was the same year as it - what a chart battle that was - one of my fav ever!

I'd rather have the Christmas number the preserve of charity singles than X Factor winners.

well at least we're not getting a relatively dead Xmas week like last year which only had Sam Bailey, the AC/DC and Altern-8 campaigns and the (awful) Big Reunion charity cover.

 

I wonder what songs are gonna get campaigns this year, there'll probably be the 'get classic rock song to #1' campaign but as the Altern-8 song showed us just about anything can get its campaign

Indeed one of my favs too, shows modern artists do try and make new Xmas hits. Was so excited when it was released, still think an XF performance could have done wonders for its chart peak.

 

I also love George Michael December Song which is relatively new released in 2009 & claiming a decent chart peak with an XF performance the following year!
