Albums of the Year

5 Hunter Hayes - Storyline - 2-1-1-3-1-4-4-3-6-8-6-7-6-9-5-3-5-7-7-9-3-4-6-9-8-10-12-14-12-... (29+ weeks)

Tracks in the singles chart:

01 Invisible - 1-1-2-4-4-6-6-10-12-20-23-27-33-38-37-35-38-33-X (18 weeks)

01 Tattoo - 40-20-22-31-28-X-26-9-8-7-9-14-18-12-8-7-5-4-7-9-2-1-5-5-9-16-19-23-26-... (28+ non-consecutive weeks)

02 Wild Card - 2-7-18-28-X (4 weeks)

06 Storyline - 7-6-11-20-20-35-X (6 weeks)

08 Flashlight - 39-29-36-8-16-24-36-X (7 weeks)

30 If It's Just Me - 30-X (1 week)

In at #5 is Hunter Hayes' second album Storyline, which has so far produced two #1 singles out of two, plus three further top 10 album tracks (Wild Card was an instant grat in the US though so it had a slight benefit of essentially being a single ~). I only discovered Hunter at the beginning of the year and I listened to his debut non-stop for about 3 days lol. His self-titled debut album won't feature in this countdown because it was released before this year, but it would have been and gone in the countdown already, I prefer Storyline by far! A lot more to come from Hunter in this countdown...

Iggy only #7 here!? I expected top 3, oops.

In all fairness, 3 of the top 6 came about in the past month :kink: So she'd have been #4 if it weren't for them! It feels weird that she's so low but will make sense when you see who's ahead I think.

meh, 'Storyline' was quite boring on the whole. couple of good songs though. :)

Except it's already not making sense because i see Taylor and Hunter ahead of her. :)

Albums of the Year

http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/OneDirection-FOUR.png

4 One Direction - FOUR - 1-... (1+ weeks)

Tracks in the singles chart:

01 Steal My Girl - 2-2-5-1-4-7-12-... (7+ weeks)

02 Night Changes - 2-... (1+ weeks)

03 Fireproof - 3-5-10-22-37-X (5 weeks)

18 Ready To Run - 18-33-... (2+ weeks)

23 Girl Almighty - 23-... (1+ weeks)

28 No Control - 28-... (1+ weeks)

Quite easily the most recent album to appear on this list, One Direction's fourth album aptly goes in at #4. It's a lot better than Midnight Memories, my #3 album of last year, so that again shows the step up in quality when this can't quite match that. It's given the boys their third #1 album in my chart - Up All Night had to settle for many weeks at #2 but would have no doubt made the top spot if my chart had been started earlier than the 2nd last week of 2011. Steal My Girl gave them their 8th singles chart #1, extending their record, with Night Changes already at #2. However, 1D are not the top boyband here, stay tuned for more...

yass *.* 'FOUR' is very close to passing 'Midnight Memories' as my favourite of theirs

Albums of the Year

3 Lily Allen - Sheezus - 1-2-2-1-2-3-2-4-4-4-3-4-3-4-6-7-4-6-6-8-9-5-7-11-9-7-7-9-9-... (29+ weeks)

Tracks in the singles chart:

01 Hard Out Here - 1-1-1-1-1-3-4-6-4-7-6-9-11-16-20-22-22-21-28-31-35-37-40-38-18-21-24-27-31-37-X (30 weeks)

01 Our Time - 1-2-3-8-16-18-22-10-12-21-29-37-X (12 weeks)

02 Air Balloon - 2-2-5-10-17-16-11-17-19-22-23-26-30-34-39-24-32-34-X (18 weeks)

02 Somewhere Only We Know - 2-2-2-2-5-7-11-15-17-20-23-22-30-X-37-X (14 non-consecutive weeks)

03 URL Badman - 29-19-15-16-12-11-7-3-5-4-6-8-13-21-26-35-28-31-33-40-X (20 weeks)

07 Sheezus - 7-11-22-32-30-35-X (6 weeks)

17 As Long As I Got You - 17-25-33-X (3 weeks)

17 L8 CMMR - 17-23-X (2 weeks)

26 Life For Me - 26-35-X (2 weeks)

Without a doubt my most anticipated album of the year, Lily Allen makes a respectable finish in the top 3 here with comeback album Sheezus. Whilst not as strong as It's Not Me, It's You, I think it's still an excellent effort from Lily and shows her talking about some more mature subjects in a couple of songs, e.g. As Long As I Got You talking about her marriage, and Life For Me talking about family life. Of course, she remains on fire with songs like Sheezus and Hard Out Here, clearly putting her point out there and being the Lily we know and love. As much as I enjoyed all the singles, they weren't picked particularly well. Hard Out Here and URL Badman deserved more and Lead Balloon and Our Time should have just been left as album tracks. Fun fact: Lily's been quite unlucky in the singles chart this era. Somewhere Only We Know got held off #1 for four weeks by herself with Hard Out Here, and Air Balloon ran into Can't Remember to Forget You in a close battle in one of the busiest chart weeks this year!

01. The Saturdays - Finest Selection

02. Pixie Lott - Pixie Lott

FLAWLESS.

Finest Selection is NOT ELIGIBLE. It's a compilation not an album x

(would be #1 if I did a GH chart :kink: kinda has no competition though lol)

*spoiler*

Albums of the Year

http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/Cheryl-OnlyHuman.png

2 Cheryl - Only Human - 1-2-... (2+ weeks)

Tracks in the singles chart:

01 Crazy Stupid Love (feat. Tinie Tempah) - 1-2-1-2-3-4-2-1-2-1-2-3-5-5-6-8-6-7-8-11-13-10-12-13-... (24+ weeks)

01 I Don't Care - 1-1-2-3-3-2-4-... (7+ weeks)

13 Stars - 13-20-... (2+ weeks)

21 Waiting For Lightning - 21-... (1+ weeks)

25 Only Human - 25-33-X (2 weeks)

27 It's About Time - 27-... (1+ weeks)

Unsurprisingly, Cheryl's new album very quickly makes it high up my end of year chart, but fails to make the top spot! Crazy Stupid Love has been one of the biggest hits of the year for me and I Don't Care is following suit. Only Human is definitely Cheryl's most cohesive album to date and this, for me, is her Tangled Up moment. It's not as good as Tangled Up but by that I mean it's definitely her best effort to date, and she's properly found the kind of music she should be doing I think.

So who is #1?... :o

YAY for Cheryl! 'Only Human' really is her best effort to date. Here's hoping the album can be a steady seller over xmas and she releases 'Only Human' the single!
