27. Gwen Stefani – Baby Don’t Lie [3-3-3-5-6-10-] *Still Charting*

28. Hilary Duff – Chasing The Sun [2-3-4-6-8-10-11-13-17-23-26-28-29-37-xx] 14 Weeks

29. Jennifer Lopez – I Luh Ya Papi [1-3-2-2-2-2-2-4-6-9-11-14-14-17-18-23-26-28-31-33-35-37-xx] 22 Weeks

30. Maroon 5 - Animals [22-15-14-18-19-20-18-12-7-8-11-14-18-] *Still Charting*

Maroon 5's second single from the lush album V. This was one of my instant faves from the album, Adam can howl near me anytime he wants. The video is totally bonkers but very

sexy. Even covered in blood, Mr Levine is a babe.

Jenny Lo drops out early with one of her A.K.A singles. I Luh Ya Papi is a bit silly, but I love it, not as much as some of the other tracks on the album though. A bit of a flop for her,

only one week at the top with this one and under 30 weeks charting as a whole. The Duffster FINALLY released something new this year. The breezy Chasing The Sun was an instant love for me, partly due to Jason Reeves being involved, but it got overshadowed by the follow-up All About You.

Gwen Stefani also came back to the music scene after an age away. Midtempo bop Baby Don't Lie might not be a smash in the making, but it is a shining light in her discography and one that keeps growing.

23. The Pierces – Believe In Me [30-26-16-5-3-3-5-7-8-12-13-14-16-20-21-25-26-28-30-32-36-38-39-40-xx] 24 Weeks

24. Sanna Nielsen – Undo [22-18-17-14-10-16-24-26-33-16-5-8-9-12-23-26-35-37-xx] 18 Weeks

25. Maroon 5 – Maps [3-7-5-10-12-13-15-17-17-19-19-22-25-] *Still Charting*

26. James Blunt – When I Find Love Again [2-2-2-8-] *Still Charting*

Hemsworth FTW.

James Blunt has never been someone whose music I have liked. Howver, When I Find Love Again is a tune and a quarter. Punchy chorus and pretty decent vocals in it, he doesn't sound too whiny on it. Lovely. Maroon 5 again with lead single from V, Maps. It took a while, but this has grown to be one of my faves from the album and I was glad to see it do fairly well for them. Haters of Adam's voice wont be converted with this song though, be warned. QoL Sanna Nielsen with uber ballad Undo, the rightful winner of Eurovision. The way this song just builds up is just mind blowingly awesome, everyone needs to own this song. The Pierces came back finally this year with a new album. Not heard it though, oops. Expect another song from them to feature here. For now, Believe In Me, which is one of my longest running songs of the year, such a gorgeous song, the synchronicity of the vocals....oooft.

Sanna didn't win Eurovision :P Conchita did, Sanna was 3rd :lol

But TUNE, one of the best songs of the year.

That's why I wrote "rightful" winner :smoke:
Oh  I thought you meant she won and deserved it, never mind :kink:

undo was very beautiful, loved the staging in the actual contest too. glad it was big but really conchita deserved to smash it !

maps was nice too, never been a huge fan of maroon 5 but this is one of their best for me. only to be bettered by animals this era anyway. daylight is still my favourite song by them.

'Baby Don't Lie'. Horribly underrated, glad to see you like it.

21. Within Temptation – And We Run [23-33-xx-23-3-3-3-6-7-10-11-13-16-19-24-28-30-31-33-36-xx] 19 Weeks

22. OneRepublic – Love Runs Out [22-16-15-14-12-18-24-21-24-28-33-36-36-38-37-34-26-27-26-27-30-33-36-38-xx] 24 Weeks

Last two songs before I kick off the top 20. Fun times.

OneRepublic have had a good year, up until Ben butchered one of their songs for his winnins X-factor single. Love Runs Out is the lead single from the re-release of Native and a much better song than Counting Stars, which is overrated. Kinda reminds me of Rolling In The Deep, but much better.

Within Temptation featuring a rapper might not sound like a winning combo, but it works, my GOD does it work. A lot of WT fans were put off and judgmental about this song, but the raps work so well with the typical music used by the band and Xzibit's voice works well with Sharons. Awesome.

20 | Anastacia – Staring At The Sun [7-6-7-7-7-5-9-16-20-18-16-21-25-22-16-12-7-5-4-3-6-11-15-19-21-26-31-35-40-xx] 29 Weeks

19 | Alanis Morissette - Today [3-3-6-6-8-12-17-14-14-11-8-8-6-6-7-11-13-19-21-25-29-32-32-36-38-39-39-xx] 27 Weeks

Just sneaking into my Top 20 with the second single from her amaze album Resurrection is Anastacia. Whereas Stupid Little Things could be seen as a somewhat happy sprock tune, this is a more bitter one, more Alanis Morissett-ish shall we say. The video is....lackluster, but it's nice enough. One of the best singles to date from this lady, the acapella version is especially haunting.

There was no new album from the second best Canadian ever (Joshua Jackson being #1 obv) but we did get two new songs. The first being Today, a beautifully mellow song with some gorgeous vocals. Totally different from the usual Alanis music but still with some classic Morissette lyrics in it.

Catching up~

'Believe In Me' is by far my fave on this page, such a wonderful track! 'Animals' is also very good, particularly the bridge. Yay! ^_^

Ben shade *.* Any chance for me to discredit him :kink:

18 | G.R.L – Ugly Heart [22-5-7-11-18-20-26-31-39-xx-30-39-xx-14-9-7-8-11-14-14-18-20-24-26-26-] *Still Charting*

One of the best girlgroup singles of the year, maybe the best. This song is tinged with sadness though due to the death of Simone though, it's hard to listen to in the same way.

I loved this right from the get-go and continue to do so. The song is the only non-crumbo tune to re-enter my chart more than once, fact fans rejoice. I really hope we get more from this group, Lighthouse sounds like it could top this.

17 | Olly Murs – Wrapped Up [1-2-2-2-4-1-5-4-] *Still Charting*

Olly Wolly ding dong appears with the lead single from his new album. One of his better leads IMO, only Heart Skips A Beat beats this. Although, it's no different really to many of his singles and he seems to be in a rut of having a lead single with some random featured rapper. There are better songs on the album but this is still a great, catchy tune.

Edited by Regina

There are like 4 or 5 better songs than Wrapped Up on the album but I think it was probably the best and safest choice for a lead single.

Ugly Heart <3 Glad to see they're continuing despite the tragedy.

yes wrapped up! one of his best singles for me now, so catchy. i think all of his previous lead singles have been better excluding heart skips a beat though. the album is full of more good pop songs so i hope he gets a few more hits out of it

16. Jennifer Lopez – Same Girl [3-2-1-3-3-5-9-8-10-11-11-14-14-17-21-25-27-26-24-28-30-31-35-38-xx] 24 Weeks

Jenny Lo once more, slayage. The first hint of how A.K.A would sound. This urban tune was released as a promo single to creat buzz for the album. Alot of people were happy with what they heard, including me. This is classic J-Lo and she looks hot as feck on the video. The remix with French Montanna is icky though, avoid that. Another #1 for her in my chart, her first of many this year. She just keeps delivering for me, although it falls behind the two remaining singles to come.

15. Cher Lloyd – Sirens [4-6-7-10-9-6-7-9-11-14-21-21-23-24-28-32-36-xx] 17 Weeks

Cher Lloyd was beyond annoying on Xfactor, I hated her. Swagger Jagger was decent but nothing else interested me till this. I was not expecting such a good song from her. Who knew that this girl could pull out such a powerful and emotional ballad? Not me. Might not have been a hit, but it made me appreciate her a bit more and give credit where credit's due, girl can sing. Not a long chart run, but I never stopped stanning for it.

I was obsessed with Cher when she was on XF, oops.

14 | The Pierces - Kings [4-5-5-14-16-13-15-19-21-20-23-24-27-28-31-33-35-31-32-35-30-32-33-36-38-xx] 25 Weeks

I told y'all better was to come from this sister duo. Second single/1st promo single from Creation and easily the best on the album. That chorus is just hypnotic and pure eargasm.

Retroness of the video is pretty awesome too, not quite as good as the song though and doesn't add much, but the song itself doesn't need much more.

13. Within Temptation – Dangerous [1-1-1-2-1-6-8-10-9-9-11-16-20-23-24-27-28-30-33-33-37-xx] 21 Weeks

12. The Veronicas – You Ruin Me [4-4-4-6-8-9-11-9-11-16-] *Still Charting*

Two songs that could not be more different now.

Dangerous was the second single from the flawless Hydra album. Released initially as an instant grat on my 21st, lovely present. It features vocals from some guy called Howard Jones, who I have never heard of. But he has an epic voice. The song is alot faster and heavier than Paradise and one of the best on the album,

You Ruin Me is the return of Aussie sisters The Veronicas, a duo I have never had much time for, however there is no denying that this is a hellova good song. Stunningly simple piano ballad delivered perfectly by the girls. Such a beautiful song, so emotional, it was a surprise hit, which is always nice to see.
