Well another year passes and 1D are still popular. So predictably they're in my hate chart. They did have a lucky escape though with 'You & I' being 11th. Anyway 'Steal My Girl' was another weak effort but at least it wasn't as offensive as their past comeback singles 'Live While We're Young' and 'Best Song Ever'. WD. Look forward to another 1D entry, will it be 'Midnight Memories' or 'Night Changes' though?

well she may look perfect but you definitely make far from perfect music, I've yet to hear a good song by 5SOS actually. Once again one of their songs just missed out (going to #12) (won't reveal which it was yet). Blame Frozen for the lack of boyband entries in this mmkay. Or the fact that I've only bothered to count down the top 10. I've never liked pop-rock since the age of 7 anyway especially when it's this cringey (how much did American Apparel them to namecheck them in the chorus?!? :wacko:)

5SOS again with their final entry (Don't Stop is #12). It's hard deciding which of Amnesia and SLSP is worse but in the end decided this as it's so dull. Really don't like the lead singer's voice in it either. How appropriate it's titled Amnesia.

 

Only one boyband in the top 5 then :o (1D obviously)

Its unlikely, but I wish Ed Sheeran would collobarate with some British MC's again! They helped him break into the mainstream and would be perfect to add some more *grit* back into his music.

 

That said, he's in a slightly different stratosphere now :lol:

We have ourselves a double-layered 5SOS sandwich with 1D bread as 'Midnight Memories' starts the top 5, once again failing to make the worst song of the year (you'll get there one day x). They came close last year when 'Best Song Ever' went to #2 anyway. This is another of their more rockier songs which I really don't like from them, really glad it flopped showing that the public just don't latch onto any song with their name on it.

Another Frozen entry, and this song really couldn't sound more Disney if it tried. Just awful :manson: It's the last entry for Kristen Bell but Idina Menzel has one more to come, question is where will it be?

gosh compiling this thing is proving to be DIFF. got a shortlist of about 250 songs :drama: just hope I haven't missed anything when I'm ordering it.

 

Will reveal my albums of the year soon, sadly this year hasn't been as good for albums as last (when we had Disclosure and Armin as my contenders and Avicii as AOTY. I doubt anything will ever top True, even his next album tbh).

The last debut album to appear in the countdown, before we hear from Avicii/Harris/Guetta, Porter does a different, more electronica style of EDM which makes for a great listen. I was a fan ever since 'Language' and despite the album departing from that sound he doesn't disappoint here. Highlights include the chart hits above as well as 'Divinity' and 'Goodbye To A World'. Really well produced throughout and worth a listen for any electronic music fans.

New Eyes is great :wub:

Surprised at that Real Love peak though :o Thought it would be bigger in your charts

Let It Go is a huge guilty pleasure, I actually really like the vocals in it, they don't hurt my ears at all and that chorus is huge :wub:

 

Hopeful/Elyar/Amnesia/SLSP/FTFTIF are bad though I agree.

 

Thinking Out Loud is really sweet and I'm still not tired of it despite it being everywhere, hoping for it to be as big as happy :wub: Stay With Me is the better of the huge male ballads this year tho

 

DYWTBAS is cute too, definitely the second best Frozen song, hoping for it to sneak back into top 100 this winter.

David Guetta finally released another album, and whilst the highs of this aren't as good as the Nothing But The Beat standouts, it still is a good album overall. Yesterday, Bang My Head and Lift Me Up are the non-single highlights so would recommend those~ Also glad he didn't completely disown Shot Me Down/Bad as those are brilliant (more on that later).
