Whilst we were waiting for Avicii's 2nd studio album (which we're still waiting for) he gave us this remix album, with all the remixes done by himself. When will your faves? He does some nice remakes of his own songs, most of which aren't as good as the originals but it's nice to hear something different. Highlights are the remixes of 'Lay Me Down', 'Wake Me Up' (which is basically the 'Wake Me Up' acappella over his promo single 'Speed', both which went to #1 in 2013) and 'Addicted To You'.

Well predictably Calvin Harris claims his 2nd award for Album Of The Year, following his 2012 win with '18 Months'. In a way it doesn't feel right to put this at #1 as '18 Months' is a lot better, but it is the album I've enjoyed the most this year so here it goes. Some v. banging tunes on here and even some that stray from the typical Calvin formula, but the formulaic tracks are mostly great too. I definitely recommend Pray to God and Slow Acid.

Shake It Off is very good but sadly there's lots of competition for my top 100, so much this year that I had to extend it to a top 200 (and still that's not all the songs I've loved this year).

 

I do have a soft spot for Say Something actually, I prefer ballads when they're sad (take notes John Legend/Ed Sheeran -_-)

Froot is amazing! Gave Marina her first Thermo top 10 hit actually (Radioactive should've peaked far higher than it actually did for me though, so it's basically her 2nd proper hit for me)

Some really good stuff I know in here so far, interested to see what's high up as you're always good for the odd excellent discovery. Pleasing to see the likes of Paperwhite, Mainline Mussy, James Bay and Henry Krinkle appear.

Don't Look Back was a so catchy but tbh Control >>>>>> . One of the best singles this year, dnb is one of my favourites sub-genres of dance so hoping for some more big dnb tunes from them in the future.

 

Black Widow is a great pop tune too, definitely Iggy's best. Hoping Rita comes back with some more great material too, would hate for her career to be ruined because of Calvin :(

 

Speaking of Calvin his album really is fantastic and as you mention, I agree that Pray To God needs to be heard by erry1, such a good fusion of artists.
