December 4, 201410 yr Author 40 → Lakota Silva Basically the Jess Glynne of South Africa, also with a phenomenal voice, Lakota has featured on a number of big dance hits here - including both Kathaldazia entries 'Closer' (with LCNVL) and 'Invincible' (with Pascal & Pearce). With my chart reinstating in September this year she has already scored a top 10 with 'Pop Ya Like A' (with LCNVL) which peaked at #6. Lakota has now recently begun her solo career with debut single 'Do Re Mi' which is an incredibly funk and doo-wop influenced masterpiece and should set the tone for what kind of music we should expect in 2015. Look out for the song in my chart in coming weeks, it's Pascal & Pearce remix premiered on radio just the other day <3 FuzJDqMktvU
December 4, 201410 yr Author 39 → Ducked Ape http://www.charliemccarron.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Ducked-Ape-Composer-Quest.jpg I only recently discovered Dutch duo Ducked Ape by accident when looking for a download link of Bal's BJSC entry 'Weekend'. And gosh what I discovery it was. They bring such a refreshing type of house production to the table, very trippy and melodic, gorgeous synths. Their remix of 'Weekend' has spent 3 weeks in the top 3 of my chart recently, while their song 'Gold Sin' (feat. Anouk Hendriks) has recently debuted at #31 - both extremely lush ofc. They should become quite a force in my chart in the future~

December 4, 201410 yr Author 38 → Gorgon City http://www.billboard.com/files/styles/promo_650/public/media/gorgon-city-650-430.jpg Gorgon City have had quite the year in 2014, 'Here for You' and 'Real' easily their best singles for me. Though their album is very formulaic and all it's hard to resist not falling in love with their output from time to time. They also tend to bring out a gorgeous remix every now and then, their mix of Jessie Ware's 'Say You Love Me' being the worthy mention in my case.
