Moby fumes at President Bush

Techno star Moby has launched a scathing attack on US President George Bush, branding him a "liar" and "corrupt".

The criticism of Bush comes in a message posted by Moby on his official website on the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on New York.

Moby hit out at the President ahead of his visit to New York, where he laid a wreath at Ground Zero to commemorate those killed in the attacks and addressed the nation.

The dance guru is not a fan of the Republican President and in his post he branded Bush "probably the worst President that the United States has ever had to endure".

Moby's message read:

"Dear President Bush,

Stay out of New York.

You don't like us and we don't like you.

90% of us voted for John Kerry in the last election. We don't trust you, and we believe, based on your record, that you've been a terrible President.

You're supposed to come to New York City today.

You're not welcome here.

You only come to New York City when you need to bolster your poll numbers.

You came here after 9-11 even though you ignored warnings of terrorist attacks and cut funding to anti-terrorist programs.

You came here for the RNC convention even though your policies have made America less safe.

You are not welcome in NYC.

Go back to Texas where you can cut wood for the TV cameras.

Or go back to Washington D.C. where you can watch Dick Cheney run the country.

You are a liar.

You are inept.

You are probably the worst President that the United States has ever had to endure."

Any Comments?

HEAR HEAR! Mr Moby....

Couldn't agree more. I know several people who live in New York, and they think exactly the same thing about Dubya...

He is a lying, corrupt sack of sh!t who has abused the 9/11 attacks for his own political ends..... <_<

It reminds me of something that frustrates me... If/when terrorists strike again, surely it will be DC, New York or possibly LA or Chicago. And yet - you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who voted for the dumb**** (or anyone who supports US foreign policy for that matter) in any of those areas (with the exception of government buildings in DC). For Christ's sake terrorist attacks are horrendous and I don't want any to ever happen again but if you MUST can you PLEASE bomb Texas?!

All i can say is ... GO MOBY!

Well said.

Good on him
I don't know why artists seem to think they have a divine right to pass judgement on governments, he has good points I agree. But what in the hell gives him the right to criticise anyone? Let alone George Bush?

Because he is a New Yorker and he is speaking AS a New Yorker, not as a Pop Star, and because he is right in everything that he says, simple as that.... The vast majority of New Yorkers HATE Geroge W Bush and about the only time that arsehole ever seems to turn up to NY is every soddin Sept 11 to give himself a photo opportunity; New Yorkers feel insulted by this man and by his shameless self-publicity seeking. Moby is a famous New Yorker and he feels that it is his duty to vocalize what he sees as the majority view. And considering the vast majority of New Yorkers voted against Bush in the last Presidential elections he's on pretty strong ground to say the things he is saying and I think he can speak for how New Yorkers in general feel about Bush and about the shameless way he's used the 9/11 attacks to further his own agenda. In short, he's merely saying what most New Yorkers are probably already thinking...

I think he has every right in the world to say what he said...

Oh, and the last time I looked, Moby wasnt a lying, murdering WAR CRIMINAL with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people on his hands, so I think that fact alone makes him have a pretty strong moral position over George fukkin' Bush..... And, indeed, Tony B-Liar....

I did say I thought he was right incase you missed that bit.

But I still don't see what gives him the right, whether the whole of the USA hates Bush, do you really think he could care less? I'm sure he couldn't. One outspoken popstar OR New Yorker is hardly going to make him think "oh maybe I shouldn't have done this or that" or whatever. He doesn't really care. I just see this as shameless publicity, forgive me for being cynical but I believe that's what it is. As much as I love P!nk she did the same thing, and I didn't think it was right then, or right now. For the record i'm a huge P!nk fan, so if it was a case of being biased I would have said P!nk was right and Moby was wrong. But still I don't see what right he has, i'm sure he would do a FABULOUS job of running the USA.

Well, frankly, I reckon Moby actually WOULD probably do a better job of running the USA to be honest, hell, I'd vote for him (A Moby/Michael Moore team-up for Pres and Vice Pres would be a cracker... )... In fact a drunken pack of braindead GIBBONS could probably do a better job of running the USA, or indeed Britain, than the utter corrupt, lying, murdering shower of useless b/astards that both countries' peoples have had inflicted upon them....

Moby said what needed saying, simple as.... And to criticise it as just publicity-seeking is a tad churlish Kelly, Moby hasn't all of a sudden gained a political or social conscience on the back of one issue, he ALWAYS had one as anyone who has followed him over the years would know, and has always been consistent in his approach on many issues, whether political or environmental. I suggest you listen to his "Animal Rights" album from a decade ago...

In short, Moby actually knows what he's talking about, he aint some idiot jumping on a bandwagon....
