Silas, I appreciate (and sympathise in the scenario of your leg, because nobody can ever plan or say BJSC comes before that) your business and the time of year, so can I suggest you stop setting times for when the results will be up and just put it up when you're ready and can do it. It'd be better from every angle, for people who are expecting it and for you who knows that you might not be able to make it. When you're free and ready, at this stage, just get it up and going, any evening there's going to be people around for it, instead of setting yourself up for a fall by giving yourself set times and deadlines that you can't fulfil.

Gotta agree. At some point people will just not show up even if there's a set time because of the history with you and deadlines. So instead of promising, just do it whenever you can regardless of the amount of responses the thread will get, because, let's be honest, it's not looking like it's going to be a good number, and then move onto another stage.

Every resultless evening that goes past is a day closer to Lilit's victory!

I didn't want to have to say this but it has gone beyond a joke now. Of course every now and then there will be reasons why things can't be presented on time (and like Rob says your broken leg couldn't be planned for!), but I'm not sure I can recall anything you've hosted in here ever happening on time which is why the reaction above is what it is. It just seems a shame that there are so many people who would love to host some of the competitions and have some of the responsibilities you do and would do it on time, but it seems that you just see it as this side annoyance (which I'm sure isn't the intention but is the vibe that is given off sometimes) that just keeps getting put off.

 

We know that you are busy and have other commitments but with that being the case surely it makes sense to hand more responsibility over to your fellow moderators and even to the other members here if needs be? We all want the BJSC forum to be the best it can be but we're at a situation where TBO is running weeks late, the Reloaded results being massively late (not just your fault of course but maybe they should be handed over again to someone else) and no sign of the CRC nearly a year after first promised. It seems like you take on so much and because there is so much it more than likely results in promises you make not being fulfilled as someone else said above.

 

I really don't want this to come across as a personal attack, I want it to come across in that I think it'd be better if the workload was spread out more evenly (than what it looks) so you don't commit to so much that it is impossible for you to complete. Of course I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but so much help is available!

Spot on. I've never understood why none of the other BJSC mods are ever given the chance to host stuff like this. TBO was a complete non-starter last year too thanks to Silas, no?
