Posted September 13, 200618 yr IFPI awards platinum sellers Keane's second album Under The Iron Sea has picked up its first Platinum Europe Award from the IFPI for having surpassed the 1m sales mark. Other acts to have picked up IFPI sales awards this quarter include Shakira with Fijacion Oral Vol 1 and Oral Fixation Vol 2 which have both crossed the million threshold. Both albums were released in 2005. Meanwhile, Coldplay’s debut album Parachutes has now sold over 4m copies across Europe, bringing the group’s tally of Platinum Europe Awards to 12, as all three of their studio albums have sold in excess off 4m in Europe. Madonna's latest album Confessions On A Dancefloor also gains its fourth Platinum Europe Award since its release last November.

FO1 has definately sold over 3 million but I'm not sure how much more though. I think we'll have to wait untill the end of this era to get some official figures. At the end of the LS era they put all the certifications that the album had got in all the different countries so hopefully they will do the same for FO1 and OF2.

September 15, 200618 yr mmm I remember matty saying that, thats all :P Yeah, I think those figures could be true. But on Pulse Music Board someone said it was all rubbish. People have based these figures on the mediatraffic website which doesn't include sales from Latin America so people have filled in the gap as to what they think she's sold in L America. So those figures could be right, but they might not be either :huh:
