See the bi-weekly thread here.

I will post the top 45 best performing tracks in my bi-weekly top 25 this year. Only tracks who have peaked in the top 10 or spent 5 weeks in the chart are eligible.

Each position in the chart gives each song a point. For example, #25 is 1 point and #1 is 25 points. So if a song had a run like this:

23-18-14-12-17-20-21>7

It would be 3+8+12+14+9+6+5=57 points. In the case of tying scores the following are taken to account in order:

  • The one that has a higher peak, or if matched,
  • The more weeks spent, or if also matched,
  • The higher debut, or if matched,
  • The oldest (earliest) debut, or if matched,
  • Ranked alphabetically (artist then title, which is unlikely that it will ever come to that :P)
They will be ranked by points and will post 10 per day (5 per morning and evening) and on the fifth day I will do a slow countdown of the top 5 in similar fashion to my 2014 Countdown.

I will post the first 5 (41-45) tomorrow morning with chart run and opinions as well as a YouTube video :P

41-45

45. Calvin Harris - Slow Acid (17 Points)

Chart Run: [18-22-24-24-25>5]

Just into the legible top 45 best performed tracks of my bi-weekly chart. Despite the large amount of negative responses on Calvin's twist of production and unprofessional technique, I found it rather catchy :D

44. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You (19 Points)

Chart Run: [21-25-23-21-21>5]

All I want for Christmas is you...

Because this was a Christmas track, it was forced to drop out after Christmas after spending 5 weeks on the chart. It also holds the record for most weeks in the chart without reaching the top 20 (5). It was my favourite Christmas song until I heard Owl City's Light Of Christmas only last month. A great Christmas classic :D

43. Ariana Grande & The Weeknd - Love Me Harder (30 Points)

Chart Run: [22-21-24-x-23-20-19[/b-22>7]

And if you want you keep me, you gotta gotta gotta, you got to love me harder...

Ariana's latest track which struggled charting in the time of a tough chart :(

A good song but she has done better :) It did well on the official chart but missed the top 40.

42. Give Your Heart A Break - Demi Lovato (31 Points)

Chart Run: [23/09/2014][9-12>2]

Don't wanna break your heart, wanna give your heart a break...

One of Demi's more unknown but great tracks from 2012, this track barely made the top 200 :( In my chart it also holds the record for fewest weeks on the chart for a top 10 peaker (2).

She sings really well here and it produces lovely lyrics

41. Snakehips ft. Sinead Harnett - Days With You (32 Points)

Chart Run: [19-17 -20-21-24-23>6]

Would you like to know me better, baby...

Unfortunately missing out on the chart, this track produces a great chill out feel to it and the vocalist sings really well in it :P Great production and lyrics too :D

36-40

40. Charli XCX - Break The Rules (43 Points)

I don't wanna go to school, I just wanna break the rules...

Chart Run: [17-17-18-18-21-22>6]

A great Charli XCX track that barely made the top 40 officially :(

A catchy beat and great chorus :D

39. Ella Henderson - Glow (46 Points)

We are fire, we are fire, and our love burn...

Chart Run: [11-18-19-20-20-22>6]

Another great track from Ghost star Ella Henderson. She sings really well and produces an overall hit which fell quickly in the chart :(

38. Cher Lloyd - Sirens (47 Points)

Lay down here, beside me when the sun is shining...

Chart Run: [8-10-13>3]

Just missing out the top 40 officially, but she sings this really well and shows off her vocal talent :D

37. Kiesza - No Enemiesz (51 Points)

We have no enemies...

Chart Run: [19-13-12-12-23>5]

A catchy track from Hideaway star Kiesza but quickly GTFO'd from the chart and barely made the top 40 :(

36. Britney Spears - I Wanna Go (56 Points)

I, I, I wanna go, go, go all the way...

Chart Run: [16-12-10-12-24>5]

Not too far off missing the top 100 is Britney's few years old track with a catchy chorus :D

31-35

35. G.R.L. - Ugly Heart (57 Points)

Chart Run: [20-15-19-15-17-18-21>7]

OK, you're pretty, your face is a work of art...

This song has a great set of voices and the tune is really good! I'm glad the chart is kind to it because I feared it would drop out of the chart quickly! R.I.P.

34. Becky G - Shower (57 Points)

Chart Run: [21-21-17-15-19-20-20-18>8]

You light me up inside like the 4th of July...

This should have been an official top 40 it but didn't even reach the top 75! :( :nono:

She 'sings' () really well in here and I love the instruments used :D

33. Shift K3Y - I Know (71 Points)

Chart Run: [13-15-16-13-15-19-20>7]

I know what you're looking for...

The follow-up to Touch star Shift K3Y peaked in the top 15 officially but also dropped out fast. I prefer it to Touch because it is less repetitive and more summery a tune :D

32. Waze & Odyssey vs R. Kelly - Bump & Grind 2014 (84 Points)

Chart Run: [23-18-15-12-12-16-22-22-19-20-21>10]

My mind's telling me 'no'...

A remixed version of R Kelly's Bump N Grind which won a top 5 hit but fell fairly quickly officially.

31. Fifth Harmony - Bo$$ (89 Points)

Chart Run: [22-17-15-12-10-9-8>7] (IN CHART)

Every day is pay day...

Still in the chart and showing no sign of leaving any time soon, catchy tune from new to the UK Chart pop girl group Fifth Harmony Bo$$ is #35 on my chart. It debuted in the top 10 officially on the Tuesday but ended at #21 on the Sunday and fell down very fast meaning only a couple of weeks in the top 100! :o :(

30. Tinashe ft. SchoolBoy Q - 2 On (96 Points)

Chart Run: [22-16-14-13-13-11-11-12>8] (IN CHART)

I love to get two on...

A great track that missed the top 100 :( and very catchy :D

29. Take That - These Days (98 Points)

Chart Run: [25-20-18-15-17-15-16-14-14-18-16>10] (IN CHART)

Tonight, we're gonna live for these days...

A great comeback single from the band and quite catchy :D

28. Tegan & Sara - Closer (102 Points)

Chart Run: [18-12-11-10-9-10-10>7] (IN CHART)

All I wanna know is, can you come a little closer...

A great track I only found out a few months ago. Lovely chorus :D :music:

27. Example - 10 Million People (117 Points)

Chart Run: [17-14-14-16-19-17-16-15-15-15-17-20>12]

10 million people can't be wrong...

Unfortunately the release didn't chart but a great summery tune from rapper Example :music:

26. Avicii - The Nights (117 Points)

Chart Run: [9-1-1-1-1>5] (IN CHART)

These are the nights that never die...

Awaiting chart impact and currently #1 on my chart for the fourth week, this will expectedly be a lot higher on the Best Performing of 2015 (Season 1) after the next 30 bi-weeks :D

21-25

25. Calvin Harris ft. John Newman - Blame (129 Points)

Chart Run: [9-8-11-9-12-11-13-17-22-23-22>11]

Blame it on the ni-i-i-i-ight, don't blame it on me...

I find this rather overchartive for my liking but it is still quite a good tune :)

24. Robin Schulz - Sun Goes Down ft. Jasmine Thompson (134 Points)

Chart Run: [24-18-20-23-18-19-15-15-13-13-11-14-16-20-21-22>16] IN CHART

Nothing's ever what we expect...

Waves and Prayer In C star Robin Schulz's upcoming single Sun Goes Down featuring the 13 year old Jasmine Thompson makes a set of great vocal talent and great production which will be sure to create another top 40 hit for Schulz :cheer:

23. Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow (137 Points)

Chart Run: [11-10-14-11-10-10-11-11-17-20-24>11]

You know what it is, everything I do, I do it big...

Having only come across it last year, I think this rapping track is great and shows that Wiz is a talented rapper :)

22. Ellie Goulding - Goodness Gracious (The Chainsmokers Remix) (149 Points)

Chart Run: [18-17-15-11-10-10-11-10-15-22-19-17-24-20-22>15]

Goodness gracious, I can't seem to stop calling it off...

A great remix of the AMAZING    but underrated (maybe I'm overrating it?) top 20 5 second lasting track from Ellie, remixed by #SELFIE duo The Chainsmokers. And it doesn't compare at all to their other track!

21. Alesso ft. Ryan Tedder - Scars For Life (150 Points)

Chart Run: [6-12-14-12-13-12-12-12-16-18-19-20-22>13]

I think scars are beautiful, I think black is white...

Another of my top 2014 unreleased live-only tracks but from Heroes star Alesso. As usual, Ryan from OneRepublic produces exceptional vocals and Alesso really polishes it off :D

Fingers crossed it'll get a release soon!

16-20

20. Avicii - The Days (186 Points)

Chart Run: [18-18-15-13-10-11-10-11-12-13-14-19-15-17-18-21-22-25>18]

These are the days we won't regret...

Unfortunately cancelled release but did make the top 100 for a few weeks purely on streaming :D

Avicii could have admittedly done a better song but is still a nice listen :teresa:

19. Train - Angel In Blue Jeans (188 Points)

Chart Run: [16-15-11-10-9-9-10-10-11-13-13-14-16-19>14]

I was shot down in cold blood by an angel in blue jeans...

Unfortunately missing the top 40, band Train produces once again a great catchy tune which should in my opinion have reached the top 40 :(

18. Armin van Buuren ft. Lauren Evans - Alone (188 Points)

Chart Run: [17-13-11-17-16-12-11-10-8-8-9-12-12-11>14] IN CHART

Everyone's connected, but no one is connected...

A great Armin dance track as usual from early 2014 with great vocals and stunning production. Unfortunately not released for the UK though :(

17. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off (207 Points)

Chart Run: [17-x(17)-13-12-11-10-10-9-6-7-6-5-4-5>13] IN CHART

I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake it off...

Having debuted in the chart at #17 and not appearing until 17 weeks later, Shake It Off has been a slow burner for me. A very catchy track with funky instruments

16. Jeremih ft. YG - Don't Tell 'Em (210 Points)

Chart Run: [14-93-11-9-9-11-14-19-16-17-16-16-15-19-19>18]

You ain't even gotta tell 'em...

A top 5 rap hit from Jeremih who spent quite a while in the 5-10 region of the official chart before falling rather quickly. A great rap song and catchy but perhaps slightly repetitive?

I will be doing these countdowns for every 30 bi-weeks (Seasons) but the last one each year will very unlikely be 30 bi-weeks long so that final one will be 30-50 or so bi-weeks long :teresa:

15. Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding - Outside (267 Points)

Chart Run: [25-17-12-7-4-1(5)-2(4)>13] IN CHART

I know what it feels like, now I'm on the outside...

One of Calvin's best non-number one hits and sees the return of Ellie who featured in 2013's I Need Your Love, this delivers great vocals and an overall likeable song for many music tastes. It spent 5 weeks at #1.

14. Taylor Swift - Blank Space (268 Points)

Chart Run: [19-14-12-9-9-7-6-8-6-5-4-5-4-7-7>15] IN CHART

I got a blank space baby, and I'll write your name...

Taylor's vocals in this track are really good and a beautiful track to listen to

13. David Guetta - Lovers On The Sun (288 Points)

Chart Run: [7-6-8(3)-7-7-8-9-9-12-11-10-9-10-11-21-20-23-21-23-21-23>23]

We might as well be lovers on the sun...

A great track from one of my favourite artists David Guetta and uncredited production from Avicii (). I love the Wild West theme style to it and the chorus makes a great dance tune :cheer:

12. Oliver Heldens ft. KStewart - Last All Night (Koala) (309 Points)

Chart Run: [23-13-7-7-6-6-1-3-2-4-4-3-4-7-8-9>16] IN CHART

We can make it last all night..

The vocal build up in this track is great  Another great dance track like Gecko (Overdrive) but only just made the top 5

11. New World Sound ft. Lethal Bizzle - Flutes (335 Points)

Chart Run: [4-5-5-6(4)-7-7-8-8-12-13-14-16-16-18-21-16-14(3)-18-20-18-24-25-23-25>29]

I love it when you blow the flute...

I love the remixed flute effect of this track

It's a real shame the vocals are rather terrible and unprofessional tbh :(

I miscounted the numbers as there are actually 44  So I will update the numbers accordingly :)

I plan to post the top 5 tomorrow spread throughout the day like for my 2014 EOY Countdown :teresa:

9. Watermat - Bullit (337 Points)

Chart Run:

A great electronic track that missed the top 10 :(

It fell a bit too fast for my liking too <_<

8. Avicii - Hope There's Someone (338 Points)

Chart Run:

There's a ghost on the horizon when I go to bed...

I think this is a dance version of another track with the same lyrics. The female vocals from the album only track from his debut album #TRUE are great alongside the amazing build-up from 2nd favourite artist Avicii

7. Nelly - Just A Dream (391 Points)

Chart Run:

I realised it was only just a dream...

A really likable track from Nelly

I really hope there's very few people here who hate it

6. Duke Dumont - Won't Look Back (502 Points)

Chart Run:

I won't look back, won't look, won't look back..

Would have been Duke's third consecutive and all #1 hit but missed to #2 :(

Great but perhaps outdated vocals and great production

MKTO's second single after the top 40 hit Classic, but did not enter the top 200 :(

A great revolutionary set of lyrics and pretty catchy
