Voting

Language Rule
5 of the 7 entries have changed their language from Icelandic to English as per the rules that in the final they must sing in the language they want to sing in for Eurovision.

I haven't heard any of these entries but my gut instinct is that Bjorn & Friends will win and it'll be a song I don't like. I've read comparisons between Maria's song and 'Only Teardrops' so that sounds good. The favourite seems to be Friðrik judging by what I've read but we'll see!

Oh well of course Cadem and Sunday would be on during the MF overlap
Annoyed that Cadem are on whilst Melodifestivalen is still on. I will have to hope it has a recap of death like X Factor does.
Friðrik and María are our superfinalists. Both good songs, but María is by far my preference. I think Friðrik is definitely the favourite though.

Gutted Cadem are out. I will console you Daniel, ignore your boyfriend :P

I hope Unbroken wins now, rather than the Ed Sheran knock off.

YES YES YES YES! MY FAVOURITE FINALLY WON! :cheer: YES MARIA!
Oh god people actually liked CADEM?! It was so horribly out of tune and weak. Glad Maria won but would have been equallly glad if Friðrik Dór had won.

I only heard the recap of CADEM but it sounded like a weaker version of Alcazar and I don't like Alcazar anyway 'Karma Karma' aside.

SUNDAY sounded very good and Elín sounded great too, it was overall a strong national final judging by what I heard!

Iceland definitley went with what was going to give them the best chance in Vienna (for good and bad reasons, I like me some left field pop like Sunday but it could have died in ESC).

I liked 1/3 of Cadem.

I am just glad the other song in the super final didn't win.

Iceland definitley went with what was going to give them the best chance in Vienna (for good and bad reasons, I like me some left field pop like Sunday but it could have died in ESC).

Sunday would've given them a Margaret Berger type of finish. Silly hoes.

Full voting results are in! The tables below are the jury vote, televote, combined vote and then superfinal vote in that order:

Maria scraped through to the superfinal by 1 point due to the juries marking her low! :o

The people that did 'Unbroken' are the same team behind temporary career saver 'Disco Love' for The Saturdays.
  • 4 weeks later...

Full video is released this evening, it premieres on Icelandic TV at around 7.30. Very excited as it sounds like there has been a few changes, the "one step at a time" lyric has been changed for example.

Full video is here!

A bigger revamp than I was expecting. :o Will take a bit of getting used to, but still a fantastic song. I'm shocked at the odds for this, around 66/1 on last check, if you want an each way bet then this is definitely a great one to choose! I can definitely see this sneaking a top 5 with a very good draw in the final, perhaps like Norway's Maria in 2008.

I'm surprised her odds are so bad - she'll shorten a lot I reckon. I do really like this song but again it gets too repetitive and I get bored.

Anyway I just found out that hera björk won the South American version of Eurovision in 2013! I'm a bit late with this one but hopefully this means a Eurovision return in the future for her! I've never heard of this contest but arrently the uk takes part too... Never seen it on the tv
