Great stuff from Wawrinka. Now just one game away from winning the French Open and serving for the title.

And he's done it on his 2nd championship point. Terrific stuff from Stan Wawrinka. Great sportsmanship from Djokovic.

:yahoo: So elated for Stan! Love his playing style & great to see him blossoming so late into his career!

Novak blew it, what a chance for the Grand Slam. Credit to Wawrinka who bossed him out there today.

Wawrinka played extremely well! He deserves it and I'm sure Novak will have another chance to win the French. Such a great match!
Didn't get a chance to follow any more than the last half hour so will have to catch up properly but delighted for Wawrinka! Always nice to see a player have a real breakthrough late into their career after years of disappointment. :D

I'm sure Djokovic will be back next year to win it. A really good final.

Great stuff from Wawrinka. 4-3 down and 0-40 down in the fourth set and then win the set 6-4 to seal the title.

Nadal has dropped to 10th in the world rankings- his lowest position since 2005.

Wawrinka climbs to 4th with Djokovic still the world No1, then Federer and Murray.

Serena Williams remains the women's world No1 with Petra Kvitova in second, Halep in third, Sharapova down to fourth. Safarova climbs up to 7th.

I would have liked Murray to have nabbed 2nd so he could have avoided Djokovic until the final at Wimbledon.

I'm surprised Federer is still 2nd!

Shame to see that Nadal probably won't win another slam :( Would love Federer to have one last win at Wimbledon if Murray isn't to win it.

Somehow I think Federer had his best chance his final Wimbledon title last year in that classic final with Djokovic.

Today the BBC announced their coverage for Wimbledon this year by planning to show up to 15 live streams and Andy Roddick will be joining their team as well along with presenter Sue Barker.

Nadal losing in the first round at Queen's to Dolgopolov. Not the form he needs for Wimbledon.

Andy Murray through to the quarter-finals after beating Fernando Verdasco at Queen's.

British wildcards for Wimbledon and how they've done:

Liam Broady: 1st Grand Slam

Kyle Edmund: 1R Wimbldeon 2013,2014

James Ward: 2R 2012

Naomi Broady: 2R 2014

Johanna Konta: 1R 2012,2013,2014

Should they be getting a wildcard if most of them haven't won a match at Wimbledon or won just one match at Wimbledon?

Wildcards also given to Lleyton Hewitt and Nicolas Mahot best known for losing in the longest tennis professional match ever.

Well done to Britain's Johanna Konta who has knocked out World No 8 Ekatherina Makarova who was a US Open semi-finalist last year. She beat in straight sets during their second round match at the Aegon International in Eastbourne.

WTA Statement On Stakhovsky Comments

"It's sad to think in this day and age there are people who are narrow minded and speak derisively about women based on sexual orientation. It's a sad reflection of old thinking and I'm proud of all our WTA players who are forward thinking, treat everyone equal and reflect life in the 21st century."

The WTA released the statement in reaction to comments made by ATP World Tour player Sergiy Stakhovsky in an interview with XSport.ua, a Ukranian-based sports website, in which his comments included the following: "On the WTA tour, almost every other player is a lesbian. Can you imagine - half of them. So I for sure won't send my daughter to play tennis."

Disgusting comments to make from Stakhovsky. I hope the ATP look at his comments and fine him. No need at all to say that.
