Really great to see her just about scrape a third US #1 album, with only 1,000 'units' (:drama:) in the difference! Her seventh top 3 album there. :o

 

In other news, I've listened to most of the tracks on this and while they're generally unremarkable, I find myself coming back to 'Invincible', 'Good Goes The Bye' and 'Take You High'. 'Run Run Run' is also very good and has a decent amount of hit potential if handled properly.

I think from what I've read elsewhere it's virtually everybody's favourite! And mine, along with Invincible. It's funny because the demo was actually quite bland but the production and increased tempo has totally transformed the song. I think it's one of her best vocals too.

The song Piece By Piece is glorious. The way she says "he loves me" is so so lovely and I'm a sucker for storytelling song lyrics.

Agree with all of this. It's now my firm favorite on the album and I'm really getting into GGTB a lot lately too, so woo for the admiration for that :wub:

Just managed to listen to the album. I really am enjoying it; it's a different sound or at least a much less guitar-driven pop record. Each song became recognisable after the second listen. (I was repeating "we could be beautiful without our war paint" in my sleep. Like for real.)

 

My favourites: Invincible, Take You High, Nostalgic and Good Goes The Bye.

 

But I am thoroughly enjoying the album as a whole.

She covered Tracy Chapman's 'Give Me One Reason' this week on SiriusXM. (A song I'm not too familiar with, but after this version... maybe I should familiarise myself with it!)

I don't know if it's coz I read a few people on here being "disappointed" or whatever else, but I really love this album on first listen. It really doesn't feel like "will this do?" at all, to me. It's all quite BIG sounding and probably more reliant on the productions than usual for a Kelly album, but it's all so good and I'm really happy with it.

 

Time will tell as to whether this is all just the rose tinted glasses talking or whatever else, but we shall see! 'Someone' is my favourite track on the album so far though!

Now that the dust has settled a bit, it's fair to say that I'm loving this album just as much now as I was when it was released! <3
