No Katy Perry did NOT.

In her recent interview with Elle magazine, Katy opens about the extreme pressures of fame and the sense of urgency to stay on top.

"It is a hundred times harder a dream than the dream that I dreamt when I was nine," she says. "You think you signed up for one thing, but you automatically sign up for a hundred others. And that is why you see people shaving their f***ing heads."
A clear reference to Britney's infamous moment of weakness in 2007. Rude.

"You've got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone's the mom [and] the dad type—you know there always have to be characters. As pop figures, we're all characters. And the media uses that."

She continued, "Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor's the sweetheart. Kanye [West]'s the villain. That's the narrative."

The irony is we're using what she said against her - the point she's trying to make. And yes, media, fans, people categorize celebs because that's how we work. It's not exclusive to famous people though. Are your friends in the family category? Is your boss a friend? Exactly.

This should make Katy Perry feel a little "-____-"

Calm your tits, Britney Army; she speaks the truth. Katy might've indirectly shaded Brit a little bit in the sense that no one wants to remember that dark moment in pop culture, however if Britney weren't extremely famous and hounded at that time she probably would've been a high school teacher's assistant in Kentwood, LA with a full head of hair. She's making the point that fame can break you down, something you don't foresee coming until you're in the midst of the white-hot spotlight.

This also has nothing to do with the above, but I find what she said about Adele in the same interview pretty funny, so here:

"Adele is so real and couldn't care less about the trappings of fame. She came to a show at the Hammersmith Apollo in England and stole my after-show burrito. She's like, 'How the f--k did you get a burrito in England?'"
Oh my my baby don't be shy.

"extremely famous"

Well, in 2007-2008 she was probably the most over exposed celebrity in the world.

She was literally on ever tabloid magazine cover, every month for a whole year. To the point magazine companies such as Blender and Rolling Stones photoshopped her pic onto another models body or used an old out take to cover her for a cover story. I'd say she has pretty much tried to avoid the fame while still performing and releasing albums since that point. So it's pretty much justified.

Partying with Paris and Lindsay Lohan

Flashing her vagina while exiting a car

Shaving her head

The countless videos of her excursions with the paparazzi

Attacking a paparazzi with an umbrella

Releasing the best pop album of our generation

The VMAS

Being forced into a conservatorship

Having a huge comeback only SIX months later.

Yeah I'd class that as EXTREMELY famous/infamous in comparison to 'Britney Jean'.
