100. SOLANGE - Losing You

Further proof that Dev Hynes is one of the most talented producers of this generation - that chicken squawking sound is everything. The other Knowles sister delivers a more exotic brand of R&B than her sister - this song is just great.

99. KYLIE MINOGUE - Get Outta My Way

I'm still not over Alesso's butchering of this gorgeous instrumental. This is Kylie at her most euphoric and it's quite scary at how steep the decline was between 'Aphrodite' and 'Kiss Me Once'.

98. DRAKE - Hold On, We're Going Home

Ridiculous video aside, this shows why Drake is one of the most respected rappers of the decade so far. Far more emotive than his peers and combining a mixture of singing and rapping with a propulsive production, this is a modern urban classic.

97. THE SATURDAYS - Ego

If there's one thing The Sats are great at, it's second singles (Gentleman is the exception). Great big chorus as usual - they may be basic, but they are catchy as hell.

96. ELLA HENDERSON - Ghost

Ella is proof that the X Factor can still make stars - her voice carries this juggernaut of a song perfectly. Overexposure may have put me off the track a bit, but there's no denying the high standard of writing or vocal ability.

95. LADY GAGA - Marry The Night

I may have said it a thousand times but this should have been the lead single over 'Born This Way'. The last minute is epic. Shame about the mess of the video.

94. KATY PERRY - Roar

Completely basic but catchy as hell. Katy knows how to deliver a simple but effective, killer pop song.

93. DISCLOSURE feat. SAM SMITH - Latch

The song that launched two HUGE careers. It is both party's best song to date, although that isn't saying much for dreary old Sam. I'm hoping they can recreate the magic on the forthcoming 'Omen'.

92. SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA ft JOHN MARTIN - Don't You Worry Child

It's been a few years since I've actually been able to listen to this due to the ridiculous overplaying, but besides that this is a perfect example of an euphoric EDM classic. And what a swan song for Swedish House Mafia as well.

91. NEON JUNGLE - Braveheart

RIP poor old Neon Jungle. Like many a girl group before them, they were cut down in their prime. At least we'll always have this banger.

90. CHERYL COLE - Promise This

Probably her most creative single, the production on this fast-paced romp now sounds a little dated but the chorus is a thing of beauty. The only thing worth salvaging from that wretched album.

89. G.R.L - Ugly Heart

They had such promise, such a heartbreaking situation for the band. At least this remains as a ray of sunlight. RIP Simone Battle.

88. CHASE & STATUS feat. LIAM BAILEY - Blind Faith

The moment where Chase & Status evolved from a typical Drum & Bass act to one of the most promising groups in UK dance music. The sample and production are incredible while Liam Bailey's vocal is the perfect example of a soulful feature.

87. CHARLI XCX - SuperLove

Criminally overlooked and underrated, this works as a bridge between Charli's two albums. That chorus is infectious and there are some brilliant one-liner lyrics - "I thought that the Power of Love was just a song/And now it's got hold of me".

86. DIANA VICKERS - Once

What a great debut that shows that Diana was something a bit different than the regular X Factor alumni. It's a shame she's never really matched this song since.

Oh dear these updates are getting more and more irregular...

85. MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS - Oh No!

The best single from 'The Family Jewels', this showed that Marina was serious about being a proper popstar. I also really appreciate the colour scheme of the video.

84. KE$HA - We R Who We R

I was at one point a huge Ke$ha fan (this song in particular spent half a year on my personal chart). Those days are gone but this is still a fun song to pre-drink too, if a bit devoid of any lyrical depth.

83. TAIO CRUZ - Dynamite

Another basic pop song with a MASSIVE chorus. It's hard to believe now that Taio Cruz used to be one of the biggest stars while only a few years later he's pretty much faded into obscurity.

82. DRAKE feat. RIHANNA - Take Care

The Gil-Heron Scott sample is so inspired and gives this rap song an element of melancholy, something that Drake is really at good at achieving. Rihanna actually tones it down for once and it works.

81. KELLY CLARKSON - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)

What. a. Song. Kelly always kills these anthems.

80. TEGAN & SARA - I Was A Fool

Everyone's favourite lesbian twins. Greg Kurstin sprinkled his pop fairy dust on them and we ended up with this heartbreaker. Sublime.

79. BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB - Luna

A song practically dripping with sunshine, the world music influences really embellish the track, as does Rae Morris' background vocals.

78. LA ROUX - Let Me Down Gently

La Roux's comeback never quite took off but I thought 'Trouble In Paradise' was one of the best albums of 2014. This is a masterpiece in tension and it's a real moment when the tempo change kicks in.

77. THE SATURDAYS feat. SEAN PAUL - What About Us

THE SATS FINALLY GOT A NUMBER ONE (not that you would know on this forum... ;) ) It's a breezy slice of electro-pop at their best.

76. BRITNEY SPEARS - Hold It Against Me

Britney goes dubstep! I think this is one of her best singles, the grinding production really gives it some momentum especially paired with that gorgeous chorus.

75. FLORENCE + THE MACHINE - Spectrum (Say My Name)

It's quite a unique situation when I like both the album version and the single remix equally. I always knew Florence would make an awesome house diva! Oh and I love the demented ballet dancer visuals in the video also.

74. KATY PERRY - Firework

Iconic awful opening lyrics aside, this is a pretty powerful song that Katy murders live (not in a good way). It also gives me flashbacks to when I worked in a gay bar and every time this came on I had to get on the bar and dance with sparklers. <_< Even after all that I still love it!

73. MARIAH CAREY feat. MIGUEL - #Beautiful

Uh this track is so breezy and effortlessly sexy. By far the best thing Mimi's put her name to this decade. Even the tacky video makes me smile.

72. VV BROWN - The Apple

VV's transformation is one of the best kept secrets in the business. The second album is a delight of dark electropop with amazing androgynous vocals. She deserves far more credit than she gets.

71. BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB - Shuffle

That opening piano riff is enough to smack a smile straight onto my face. Genius indie pop.

70. DJ FRESH feat. RITA ORA - Hot Right Now

A perfect slice of summery energetic drum & bass and our introduction to Rita Ora.

69. ELLIE GOULDING - Starry Eyed

I much preferred Ellie when she blended her pop with a tinge of folktronica. I don't blame her for choosing to appeal to a mass audience though - look how successful she is now!

68. TINIE TEMPAH - Pass Out

Such a uni anthem, we particularly love it for the Heidi Montag and Audrina Patridge shout-out and because one of our friends was actually from Scunthorpe. At the time, the drum & bass breakdown on a rap record just seemed so cool as well.

67. M83 - Midnight City

Made In Chelsea. Need I say more?

66. BASTILLE - Pompeii

Epic pop anthem that is so fun to sing along to, purely to mimic Dan's strangely accented vocals. A little bit overdone now, but still a major song of the decade.

65. RIHANNA - Rude Boy

Probably the first time we saw BADGALRIRI. This is such a "naughty" anthem, perfect for embarrassing drunken grinding in the club.

64. RITA ORA - I Will Never Let You Down

Oh Rita. If the rest of the Calvin produced songs were of this calibre, I weep for you. This is pretty much pop perfection - those "oh!"s are incredible.

63. RIHANNA - Diamonds

A more subdued and mature Riri now. I actually think this is the best song Sia has ever written. I just have to stop myself from singing "SHINE BRIGHT LIKE ANNE DIAMOND" though...

62. ONE DIRECTION - What Makes You Beautiful

Yep it's those pesky scamps who are actually a QUITE GOOD POP THING don't you know. I feel like they should actually have featured a bit more in the countdown but I am not redoing it!

61. CLEAN BANDIT feat. JESS GLYNNE - Rather Be

Yes, it's the song that introduced us to QUEEN OF THE CHARTS, Jess Glynne. It's so delightfully throwback 90s dance it deserved to be the monster hit it was.

60. ELLIE GOULDING - Anything Could Happen

This is the perfect mix of Pop Ellie with Indie Ellie. That raspy middle 8 is so great but her look in the video is quite disturbing.

59. LITTLE MIX - DNA

The first song that proved Little Mix would be a Good Pop Thing. It's like the sister of Katy Perry's 'ET', only a little more sinister with that creepy music box sound. The video is brilliant too.

58. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - Mirrors

Pretty much the only saving grace from the bloated and monotonous 'The 20/20 Experience', this is classic Timberlake, much in the vein of 'What Goes Around'.

57. KELLY ROWLAND feat. DAVID GUETTA - Commander

Remember when Kelly looked like she might actually become a big popstar in her own right? Yeah that didn't last long but this song is banger and much more preferable to the countless R&B slow jams that followed.

56. PALOMA FAITH - Only Love Can Hurt Like This

It was so lovely to see Paloma finally score a huge hit, and what a song it was. Her voice sounds incredible, the imagery in the video is both provocative and stunning - a ballad that I actually like!

55. EMELI SANDE - Next To Me

It makes a nice change to see a gospel-influenced song hit it big. This and 'Heaven' prove that if she stuck away from the dreary ballads Emeli might actually make a decent popstar.

54. HURTS - Wonderful Life

Hopefully the only song on the list about a suicide attempt. Both tragic and uplifting, Hurts are great at creating miserable pop songs with big choruses. Shame that they've never been able to recapture the highs of their debut.

53. KANYE WEST feat. RIHANNA & EVERYONE ELSE - All Of The Lights

Kanye + a cast of thousands create one of his best ever singles. Unfortunately the video version cuts out Fergie's verse... Elton's backing vocals are awesome too.

52. MUTYA KEISHA SIOBHAN - Flatline

Just writing about what could have/should have been makes me angry. SOON.

51. GRIMES - Go!

This was apparently written for Rihanna, but I'm glad Grimes kept it even if she's not that fond of it. Her visuals as usual are stunning but it's all about that INSANE breakdown. Never gets old.

50. CALVIN HARRIS feat. FLORENCE WELCH - Sweet Nothing

The best single from '18 Months' by a mile. Florence suits dance music so well and she rocks the androgynous look in the video!

49. TAKE THAT - The Flood

They may be my mum's favourite band but that doesn't stop them from making some of the best pop songs of the last 10 years. If only they stopped with 'Progress'.

48. IGGY AZALEA - Work

Remember when everyone loved Iggy? It was less than a year ago but it feels like a lifetime now. This remains a banger.

47. DEMI LOVATO - Heart Attack

I've recently come to the realisation that Demi is much better than I give her credit for. She's yet to top this though.

46. TOVE LO - Habits

The good version, not the horrific Hippie Sabotage remix which is an actual sabotage!

45. CRYSTAL CASTLES - Baptism

Soundtrack to some crazy nights out and some of the most insane gigs I have ever been to. I miss them greatly.

44. ADELE - Rolling In The Deep

Destroyer of Charts now, Adele proved with this song that she is so much more than a simple ballad singer. Her emoting is the best in the industry hands down.

43. JAY-Z & KANYE WEST - N****s In Paris

Now a staple of nightclubs this is rap at it's most energetic. Ridiculous production, tonnes of fun and instantly iconic lines.

42. NERO - Promises

A rare instance of dubstep done well. It's amazing that this actually made it to number 1 in the UK when it sounds like it's heralding the apocalypse.

41. BEYONCE feat. JAY-Z - Drunk In Love

I love it when Bey gets nasty. Perfect for grinding in the club, the sexual chemistry between the couple is palpable.

40. KIESZA - Hideaway

Ooh... Aahhh.. This was such an instant earworm that it was great to see it enter the top of the charts. The video is also iconic, it's just a shame that she's already fallen into obscurity.

39. LADY GAGA - Alejandro

That icy intro grips me every time. This also happens to be my mum's favourite Gaga song. It's simply brilliant without being too try-hard - something she should try to recapture on the next album. The video would have been great too if it was edited down - not every music video needs to be 8 minutes long!

38. CHARLI XCX - Boom Clap

Charli's biggest single yet and it's a beauty. The melody is simple and childlike and it's that which makes it so effective. I could do without the advertising of that awful film though.

37. TAYLOR SWIFT - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

It was this song that gave us the inkling that Taylor wanted to go pop. And she does it so well! Poking fun at her media reputation was a PR stroke of genius too.

36. LOREEN - Euphoria

Probably the most loved song in Buzzjack history. It's definitely the best Eurovison entry ever, as it's an absolute behemoth of a pop song. Dark, mysterious and she sold it to hell and back live.

35. NICOLE SCHERZINGER - Don't Hold Your Breath

Such a brilliant song and proof that Nicole deserves to be a big star - if only she's given the right material.

34. ARIANA GRANDE feat. IGGY AZALEA - Problem

Pretty much responsible for the resurgence of horns in the last 18 months and the best example of an instrumental chorus. A star is born.

33. KYLIE MINOGUE - All The Lovers

This remains Kylie's last big hit and unfortunately I can't see her reaching those heights again. That middle 8 with the explosion of synths is TO DIE FOR. Gorgeous video too.

32. PARAMORE - Still Into You

Perfect combination of pop and rock. Paramore's fourth album remains a surprising masterpiece and I look forward to see what happens next.

31. WILL YOUNG - Jealousy

Tears on the dancefloor brilliance.
