April 14, 201510 yr Author Freddie Mercury - "Living On My Own" reached #1 after NOW 25 was released and Jess Glynne - "Hold My Hand" spent three weeks at #1 after NOW 90 was released
April 15, 201510 yr One of the reasons I got Now 48 was because it had Modjo's Chillin' on a full 3 weeks before release. I loved the song at the time but now it sounds so dated. Also on the same Now a rare single that never charted or from what I can tell was ever released as a single..... B Boyz - Who Let The Dogs Out the original obviously being too pricey to license for the compilation.

April 16, 201510 yr If we're talking songs that appeared on Nows that then went on to do absolutely nothing chart wise...I can think of a good few: The Groove Generation feat. Leo Sayer - 'You Make Me Feel (Like Dancin')', Los Umbrellos - 'No Tengo Dinero' and Kerri-Ann - 'Do You Love Me Boy?'. These were all on Now 40 before their releases, the Leo Sayer one was essentially what N-Trance had done with Rod Stewart 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy' a year prior to that, I think it's positioning on disc 1 made the label believe they were onto a winner again. No such luck. Los Umbrellos was held back for over a month and didn't chart until October, only got as far as #33 I think? (I think T-Spoon which was out at the same time probably killed it off) And Kerri-Ann was apparently tacked onto the end of Disc 2 as Louis Walsh (her manager) would only allow Boyzone to be on disc 1 if she was on there as a compromise. Knowing Louis as we all do, that doesn't surprise me, somehow. Fe-M@il - Flee Fly Flo on Now 46 (again, their managers were Steps' management and would only allow them onto that Now if this was on there as a compromise. And hello Top 50 with a bullet upon release) Another Now 55 one - I know Coldplay were mentioned earlier from the same volume - Appleton, 'Everything Eventually'. Only went as far as #38 on release. Shame really as I always liked that song and its parent album.
April 16, 201510 yr Didn't know that about Kerri-Ann and Fe-M@il! I wonder if any of the songs on the Hits albums ever made it by the same token? Or any songs that went on to be big hits anyway.
