Posted September 15, 200618 yr Embrace - Target http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/ISOM110SMSST.JPG Following the hiatus created by the World Cup single 'World At Your Feet', Embrace are back on track with probably the biggest song off their album 'A New Day', in the shape of 'Target', a typically uplifting Indie/Rock anthem that brings to mind the likes of Keane, U2 and Echo & The Bunnymen - HMV track listing * 1. Target [Album Version] * 2. One Luck * 3. Thank God You Were Mean To Me UK Release date: 11-9-2006
September 15, 200618 yr This is very Echo & The Bunnymen (another act who have done a ropey England World Cup Song!). There are 3 or 4 better songs from A New Day that could & should have been singles.
September 15, 200618 yr Better than their usual IMO. I didn't even know they were releasing a single until this week, so it's obviously had great promotion.
September 15, 200618 yr Looks like they've gone back to flopping again I preferred the singles from the last album TBH, but the name escapes me :(
September 15, 200618 yr This is flopping quite badly. :( I heard about this being released around July time but then I totally forgot about them releasing this until Sunday. :o This song wouls have probably gone top 15 had it been properly promoted, but it wasn't, I mean Radio 1 normally playlists most of their singes yet they didn't playlist this at all. :(
September 15, 200618 yr There are 3 or 4 better songs from A New Day that could & should have been singles. Couldn't agree more! I think 'Target' is one of the more weaker songs on the album. They shoulda gone for 'Sainted' or perhaps 'Exploding Machines'. xXx
September 15, 200618 yr I liked what was supposed to be the next single after 'Natures Law' before they scrapped it and released that awful World Cup song. It was called 'No Use Crying'.
September 15, 200618 yr Personally I thought Target was a good choice for a single. ^_^ Just goes to prove how wrong I was though. :( I can't remeber what the track is called off hand but I think i'm pretty sure its track 5 on the album. I reckon that will be released next, as its one of the strongest songs on the album and the track will appeal to all ages like Chasing Cars is doing from Snow Patrol. ^_^
