We start with one of MANY Dutch DJs and even more DJs in general, well this IS a Thermo countdown so yeah half of these people don't even sing. With his great progressive house melodies it's no surprise he's so big. Except in the UK chart where he hasn't had many hits, he did go to #1 with I Could Be The One of course which makes up most of its points here but he continues to deliver the goods with songs like Let Me Feel and Feet On The Ground making impact in the last 12 months.

Well here's someone who's been missing from the chart for ages, but will obviously come back with another massive era when she does. She's one of the few who can actually take a long break and come back relevant anyway. She doesn't do dance music but her voice is stunning and she makes good use of it in great pop tracks especially Rolling In The Deep which spend an amazingly long amount of time in my chart! I can't imagine her ever having a song as good but hopefully she delivers.

Despite only having 2 hits they make the top 50 from their 2 hits happening to be massive. I absolutely love 'Hello' and 'Outlines' which they feature on but I'm not much of a fan of their solo work. Would like to her her voice on more dance tracks anyhow as it definitely works well!

Then he released Earthquake which is an absolute anthem and makes up most of his points here. It also contributes to Tinie Tempah's total which means expect him to appear later on. He has disappointed since but of course it's hard to top an effort like that.

This is one example of an artist I wouldn't put in my top 50 artists if it wasn't by point system. I liked Just the Way You Are quite a bit at the time but it got boring with overexposure and being in the chart week after week and I still don't like it now. Same with Grenade except it didn't take as long for me to hate it. He's got Uptown Funk now to add to his point collection anyway and I haven't gone off that yet thankfully.

oh Taio Cruz, what happened to him? He did have some banging tunes in his career though, with Dynamite deservedly being a huge hit and Come On Girl, Dirty Picture and Break Your Heart too although they are too early for this chart. Even Troublemaker and Hangover as painfully generic as they were really worked for me.

Clean Bandit make a strong impression after their first era, they have made some really good songs like Rather Be which was my #4 song of 2014. I love their classical-dance sound and even more love how they make it sound so fresh. Would like to see these guys live at a festival one day, I imagine it would really work.

Novelty k-pop singer PSY appears here mostly from Gangnam Style which was my #1 song of 2012 and spent an insanely long time in the top 10 of my chart. Unsurprisingly his songs have got less and less good since then with Gentleman being another #1 but with a short run and Hangover only making #25. And we haven't had another single since. :(

One of the UK's best producers, Sub Focus is one of the few on this list I've actually been to a live show of, and his music is made for playing loud. He's taken a bit of a break now but hopefully he comes back soon with tunes like the ones noted in this post. Endorphins and Turn Back Time in particular are great, it's good to see him deviate from the drum n bass sound he's mostly known for.

After initially wowing me with 'Language', a song so good it spent 6 weeks at #1 and was my EOY #3, he came back with some more great songs and a studio album too, none of which touches the quality of 'Language' of course but that would be very hard to do. He's very innovative and unique which I love in a dance music producer, so his place in the top 40 is deserved.

One of my favourite Swedes, Alesso has a great way of making progressive house that's commercial and club friendly, and this has seen him with some chart success recently which of course is great to see. Not quite managing to beat her ex-boyfriend, he'll be coming up later on, but Rita Ora gets herself a top 40 position. Impressing early on with her vocal on 'Hot Right Now', I was fully on board with the first era single choices. Except Shine Ya Light which was a bit bleh. And then of course I Will Never Let You Down had to ironically let me down despite the Cal in Harris production. :( She is a due a return soon though and with a different producer so hopefully she can impress once again.

The highest charting Swedish House Mafia member is of course Angello, chart history from the group has not been included in the totals of the individual artists so they are still definitely yet to come. He has proven time and time again why he one the best Swedish DJs, with only Swedish House Mafia and Avicii ahead in this countdown, (although Alesso has since overtaken with the inclusion of the latest weekly chart, which won't be reflected here) with big progressive house bangers like Payback and Knas and the more commercial moments too like his Show Me Love cover and latest single Wasted Love.

Well it's obvious why he's here really. Wake Me Up was a proper massive hit in my chart as anyone who knows me would easily guess, it took the EOY #1 of 2013 and was one of the most successful songs in my chart ever. He's also helped by 'I Need A Dollar' which was a big hit in my chart too although its chart run looks relatively poor next to 'Wake Me Up'. His 2nd UK #1 'The Man' was a much smaller hit, only making #24 and contributing very little points here.
