February 17, 201510 yr I remember the live episode so clearly, crazy to think it was 5 years ago now! I was in SHOCK when Bradley died and did not expect Stacey to be the killer, hopefully similar shocks can be delivered this week.
February 17, 201510 yr 5 iconic comedy moments Before the final 20, this section is for the unintentionally iconic moments created by them being very funny and well remembered. Kim's drunken CCTV video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8M5-Umcf24 Ben Mitchell 'slaps down' Jordan Vanessa's bubbly meltdown Alfie's condom problem Zainab's attempt at singing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOLvMOzg84U I think this should be mentioned as a funny moment as well, Ben's facial expressions at the end had me in stiches  1COK99XsTSg
February 17, 201510 yr Author 12. The Aftermath of Lucy Beale's death wLb0hm4oLK8 Of course one of EE's biggest ever storylines which will be culminating this week in the 30th Anniversary. 'Who Killed Lucy' has gripped the viewers, with a record number of bets being placed for a TV show. The aftermath of her death has been some of the best acting the show has ever seen, particularly from Adam Woodyatt. The scene with Ian and Phil finally putting aside their differences as Phil comforts Ian was very touching and a game changer for their relationship. cPSy2kD1ed0 This may be considered too soon, but this is definitely one of EE best ever acted moments and will go down in its history.
February 17, 201510 yr Lacey Turner really is a phenomenal actress, both the bipolar storyline and Stacey confessing to Archie's murder were impeccably acted to say the least <3
February 17, 201510 yr Author 11. Nick Cotton almost poisons Dot 2JR8kFnNHtY Out of all Nick's attempts to kill his old ma, this was definitely the most iconic of them all. The juxtaposition of Nick Cotton tricking Dot by acting so nice was so well done! It showed that despite all his evilness, Nick Cotton might have a heart after all. He couldn't go through with poisoning her and it was a weird bittersweet moment for viewers.
February 18, 201510 yr Author 10. Ethel Skinner's death Us93Q_nw4yw One of the most emotional and heartbreaking death scenes has to be Ethel's back in 2000. Unfortunately, Ethel's health had significantly deteriorated and she asked her best friend, Dot, to help her die. After much soul searching, Dot decided to put aside her religious beliefs to help her friend in ending her pain and life. It was a fitting, iconic exit for one of EE's most iconic characters.
February 18, 201510 yr Even from clips you see in Eastenders montages, Ethel's death always looked so beautiful. Very well done
February 18, 201510 yr Author 09. Jamie Mitchell dies in Sonia's arms ZHpUtU2SUhw These scenes are some of the saddest I've ever watched on EE. The contrast of Billy and Little Mo's wedding intertwined with Sonia and Jamie was just so so heartbreaking. And the scene when Jamie breaths his last was so powerful - it was amazing to see how much it affected Phil to show he does have feelings and a soul after all. All the actors involved did a great job, and the music choice was spot on too! Of course it was also sad because the gorgeous Jack Ryder was leaving EE too.
February 18, 201510 yr Author 08. Den is revealed as the father of Michelle's baby qn2VG59rk6E This was EE first 'whodunnit' - after Michelle was revealed as being pregnant it was the question on everyone's lips. Who is the father? The way in which it was revealed is very clever, with all of the different suspects leaving the square (of course only one to meet her) and we then finally discovered that it was Den! Of course this storyline earned Den is nickname of 'Dirty Den'. I didn't watch this personally because I wasn't born, but it's always been thrown around as an iconic moment due to it being the first whodunnit and its iconic reveal!
February 19, 201510 yr Author 07. Trevor and Little Mo's Christmas dinner TvYpUIXq3VA Poor Little Mo and her Christmas dinner abuse from Trevor is up next. This was near the end of Little Mo's bullying saga before she finally fought back by wacking him with an iron. Millions of people saw this horrible moment where Trevor abused Little Mo using some dinner and gravy. It was such a great storyline, but very difficult to watch. This was when I really started getting into EE, so I guess that's why I placed it so high. I definitely think this was one of EE's most iconic moments.
February 19, 201510 yr Author 06. Den gives Angie the divorce papers CcqqJc4xYxQ EE's most watched episode ever just misses out on a top 5 position. Purely it's impact on soap history and its usage by the media has meant this finished very high on the countdown. This moment showed that EE was definitely going to be around for some years to come delivering such a great quality storylines and bombshells. This was the original Christmas 'duff duff' moment and has definitely characterised it for EE's future. "'Happy Christmas Ange" ;)
February 19, 201510 yr Author 05. The Stax affair is revealed by DVD f949uafKpCc 14 million viewers watched this fateful moment when the affair between Max Branning and Stacey Slater was revealed by DVD in front of the whole family. This has definitely got to be one of EE's moment iconic moments and one of its best moments of the recent years. The build-up, reveal and aftermath were all handled perfectly and made for unmissable Christmas Day viewing!
February 19, 201510 yr Author 04. Pat's death jv5F9nU5XF8 This episode has been one of EE's most emotional ever. The 80 minute long show focused on Pat giving each member of her family an individual send off, including making peace with newly pregnant Janine. We saw the return of her son, David Wicks and after some heated words, he finally returned just in time to witness the passing of his mother. The moment she died providing not a dry eye in the house. The fade to black and 'Pat's Theme' running over the black credits were a perfect ending to a perfect send off episode.
February 19, 201510 yr Author 03. Danielle is killed after Ronnie discovers her identity TT2Bz3JZEHA The ending which no one expected! After finally discovering that Danielle was her daughter, Ronnie ran after her as she headed for the tube station. However, this is EE and tragedy struck just when Ronnie received her happy news. Janine came hurtling round the corner and mowed down Danielle and she died in her mother's arms. A highly emotional and a highly iconic moment in EE's history!
February 19, 201510 yr I remember Danielle's death like it was yesterday! Still gives me shivers watching it, definitely one of the best moments from EE!
February 19, 201510 yr Same, it'd be one of the most iconic scenes for me too if I did a countdown! <3 01 Bobby Beale revealed as the murderer :)
February 19, 201510 yr No, that Danielle death gets me so annoyed everytime. After ALL that time of waiting and Ronnie being miserable, we didn't even get to see them be happy for even a short period </3
February 20, 201510 yr Some of these moments are so harrowing and testament to how brave the show has been at times. The Little Mo one in particular :'(
February 20, 201510 yr Author 02. Sharongate xVn3AEONjSs EE greatest ever affair reveal, in fact soap's greatest ever affair reveal! Sharongate gripped the nation as Grant played a recording of Sharon admitting that she slept with his brother, Phil, to the whole of the pub. Of course the aftermath was not pretty! We saw the Mitchell brothers at one of the darkest hours as Grant punished Phil for sleeping with his wife. The whole reveal and storyline has been so iconic and just misses out on #1 on my countdown to an even more iconic reveal. (P.S. OMG Kathy in this scene, she's still alive :P)
