Una was on Lorraine and basically has no idea when they band is reuniting. She said it won't be for a few years... :lol: Not that anyone cares now. I still think they have treated their fans awful in the past few years

 

They won't reunite unless they get an offer they can't refuse.

 

Their record deal finished with the Greatest hits record and going by that performance no label is in a rush to sign them. They won't start recording on their own and they won't go independent so yeah. They're as done as Atomic Kitten.

Bit of a negative article about Vanessa claiming she's taking up to 50,000 of taxpayers money through the music export growth scheme to invest into her solo career despite "making nearly 2 million pounds with the Saturdays"

There is a lot of sensationalism here, the grant pays out 5-50k but they claim it's 50k she's given and "is thought to have made 1.6 million" so they round that up to 2 million.. I'd be surprised if they made that much with the group, she'd hardly need that small grant if she did?

So, first they round up 1.6m to 2m, then they claim she's getting 50k, but then add that they have no idea they have no idea how much she's getting? In other words, she could be getting 5k, or 25k, or 50k or any number in between?

 

Also, when they dissolved their company it had 1.06m in assets set to part five ways? I doubt her autobiography paid much either, maybe like 50k max? I also doubt she has 1.6m lying around on her iamspamspamamicounter anyway as she has to pay managers and what-not...

Between 5 million album/single sales, ticket sales, endorsement deals and appearances (as a group but solo as well), TV shows, and a seemingly low budget for much of it? I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of $$$ not run through Day & Night Ventures. With Vanessa, I wouldn't be surprised if she blew a lot of it investing in her solo career. She has recorded a lot, done music videos, had quite a few releases, etc. with very little return. She probably exhausted a lot of her savings.

You have to remember that in general The Saturdays sales were VERY low bar their first album and the Headlines EP, and even those aren't exactly "breaking the bank" type of sales. There's a reason the record company was able to drag them to a greatest hits - if the individual members had taken too big of a chunk of the cash they earnt, they likely would've been dropped far sooner. They most likely had a 360 deal where the record company took a considerable chunk of all activities they did as a group at the very least. It wouldn't surprise me if in actuality most of them earn well below the million mark during their time as a group.

 

Look at S Club 7. The members there admits that they earnt very little and they were far more successful!

It's been nice seeing them together more lately. The reunion for Mollie's birthday was great (not sure that was ever posted) and then Frollie at the Glamour awards. I guess they saw Rochelle there too. Frankie was asked at the awards if they talked about a reunion at Mollie's birthday and she said no, but that they know they have the option to reunite whenever since they are all still close.
