Maybe Vanessa's happy because she has a new look, new sound & new body?! :o

If Vanessa is happy with her new sound, axe her from the band.

IT WAS HER CHOICE TO RELEASE GENTLEMAN :o I'M CALLING IT. KILL HA!!!

She looks great. You all need to stop being so negative towards other members who aren't your favs. It makes this forum such a bitter and negative place.

It was Una, she said in a flip how it was her favourite song on the album.

I'd be fine with a Frolluna reunion tbh.

Make it Mochuna and it could work.

Vanessa's full interview

I'm shocked at how negative she is towards the group. Zayn Vibes. Why be so dismissive of your past?

I've just read the interview. I won't lie when I say it was giving me teas of when Melanie C first when solo from the Spice Girls with 'Northern Star' and was dismissing her poptastic past at every given opportunity - only difference being however, that Vanessa hasn't laid her claws into anyone else's solo efforts like Mel did with say, Geri's every single and PR moves. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt however, as it's probably written out of context to what was actually said, this being The Sun etc.

I do like the stuff she's had out so far. It's not all that commercial, but that's missing the point. It's highlighting what each of the girls - OK, scratch that, make that the three who are still pursuing music - wants to pursue musically as solo artists. Like Vanessa's is very R&B but she pulls it off vocally and styling wise. Likewise Una doing the folksy, guitar based route suits her. And I'm sure when Mollie's record comes out later in the year we'll get the more poppier vein of things from her. That's what they all bought to The Saturdays as individuals and it's only right they pursue that on their own terms too.

You're taking what she's saying in a context that you want to; negatively.

To me, it reads like any other artist that has gone solo.. "I couldn't do this in the band".. "I feel better now I can do what I want".

She's in no way negative about the girls or the fans. She doesn't say the songs were bad, she just says that they weren't her preferred genre.

She's basically confirmed what everyone knew as soon as the word 'hiatus' was mentioned - they didn't really want to continue in the group anymore but they don't want to say split just in case/it would lead to negative press. Hiatus in pop always means a split and I think its quite insulting to fans to lead them on where 99% of the time nothing will happen afterwards.

to be honest the thing that offended me most is when the interviewer said Nessa's vocals carried them into the top 10, when she wasn't even lead vocalist on their one and only number 1...interesting perspective though

TBH she can dismiss them as much as she wants, and I do like her solo stuff, and I'm still Ness lover, but maybe she should remember that chances are a good chunk of those tiny ep sales she had, will have come from fans she gained by being in this silly, soulless pop group

This is the only part I really cared about:

“That’s true,” nods Vanessa, apparently confirming her reluctance to go back. “We haven’t had that [break-up]conversation, but we haven’t had a conversation where we plan to do something. So I’m in f**king limbo here and I’m in the f**king band!

“I’m bored of saying: ‘We’re going to do something,’ because I don’t know what ‘it’ is.”

I appreciate her shining some light on this. It sounds like they genuinely don't know what will happen with the group which at least tells us that they haven't been keeping something from us. I love that she is also acknowledging how annoying the "we're going to do something" comments can be.

I have to disagree with Scherz. I think her tone in the interview is sort of negative. She could get the same points across without acting like a victim of the group and the other girls. I realize The Sun put their spin on it, but quotes are quotes. I can't imagine the girls will be happy with this interview and I could see it causing some tension.

I think it's a bit of a wake up call. I guess the way it's written might have been to heighten some drama, but there is no doubt a negative tone in that interview,

I did appreciate that she shed some light on that, and was honest, and said she doesn't know if it will happen, rather than stringing us along.

I also don't mid the fact that she is distancing herself to an extent. Like I understand her sound is very different to what she was able to do with the girls, and she wants people to know that it isn't just sats music without the other girls she's releasing, and equally wants to be known as Vanessa White, and artist in her own right, rather than one of the girls from the saturdays. But at the same time I think she can do that, and has done previously, without necessarily insinuating that what the sats put out was crap, and she didn't really want to be part of it, even if that's how she truly feels, because most of her fans will be saturdays fans first.

I do think the Sun will be playing a part in it though, they're notorious for twisting things, or leading with negative questioning, and i doubt it's a coincidence that this is the first interview she's done since the 'hiatus' where the message was a tad negative. But as well Zach is right, quotes are quotes.

But you're reading words! You can't hear how she's said it. It's written to create drama.

I could use the same quote, using the exact same words and you wouldn't see negative:

“That’s true,” nods Vanessa. “We haven’t had that [break-up]conversation, but we haven’t had a conversation where we plan to do something. So I’m in f**king limbo here and I’m in the f**king band!" she laughed.

“I’m bored of saying: ‘We’re going to do something,’ because I don’t know what ‘it’ is.”

I see your point Scherz but saying she's in "f***ing" limbo and in the "f***ing" band comes across as bashing. You don't typically put "f***ing" before something you like or want to be a part of, regardless of how much you swear or how much you're laughing about it.

I guess my point is, she should be careful not to bite the hand that fed her for so long, and also be careful not to offend fans, her bandmates, or management. Doesn't she know how easily things can be misconstrued? Then again, she says they didn't let her speak as much for that very reason. At least she owns it I guess

I guess I don't see it that way because I put f***ing before pretty much everything
