Every one has special moments in, and i still enjoy listening to 'Bedtime Stories' despite it taking the wooden spoon.

March 9, 201510 yr Author True Blue is an album of almost wall to wall great songs, BUT as an album it doesn't really work for me as anything more than a collection of great songs. They all sound similar of course, but it's not got the variation of much of her later work in terms of sound/style/content, especially not the 2 albums hat follow it (and Ray of Light of course).

I can agree with you on it sounding like a collection of songs; to me it doesn't sound like a usual Madonna album (and not in a positive way), and I think it feels quite empty. However, for me I have to say that I only think Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart, Live to Tell and La Isla Bonita are worthwhile, making the remainder of the record fairly pointless. I don't think it has a lot to offer and Like a Virgin is even weaker; I only enjoy three of its ten tracks. I hope I didn't piss any 80s fans off. :P To me her 90s records and much of her 00s work is so superior that it's not even up for discussion, but I guess LAV and TB are very nostalgic and memorable for many older fans.

March 12, 201510 yr I'm slowly getting through her albums, not done yet but this is them all so far: 1. Confessions on a Dance Floor 2. Music 3. Ray of Light 4. True Blue 5. Like a Prayer 6. Rebel Heart 7. Like a Virgin 8. Madonna I can't say I've disliked any of these though! Rebel Heart would probably stand a chance of being higher if it were a bit shorter with less filler.
March 12, 201510 yr This is really quite difficult, I've loved most of her albums at some point or another even if I can see in retrospect (and with less loon tinted glasses on) that some aren't really all that. But I'll settle with something a little like this... Bedtime Stories 13. Hard Candy MDNA is decent (if you trim the fat), the next 3 have their moments but Hard Candy is honest to god one of the worst albums I've ever listened to. Utter monstrosity. March 13, 201510 yr I added up the scores of the ten lists including all thirteen of her studio albums, and got the following list (from favourable to least favourable; maximum score 130): 1 Ray of Light 108 2 Confessions on a Dance Floor 101 3 Like a Prayer 94 4 True Blue 84 5 American Life 81 6 Erotica 71 7 Rebel Heart 70 8 Music 69 9 Like a Virgin 57 10 Bedtime Stories 48 11 Madonna 47 13 Hard Candy 43 13 MDNA 43 Hard Candy received more higher scores than MDNA. Bedtime Stories being so low, and True Blue being that high, makes my eyes sore.
