Yeah Chelsea will be loving it. On the other hand, for United, todays results couldn't really have got any WORSE.

I'm a chelsea fan and i would of preferred a draw or Man.U winning as seeing ARSE lose and be so close to bottom is good.

That's because you're a $h!t fan, a fan that supported Liverpool before and a fan that would rather see another team lose than their own win.

Right....

If Man.U had won chelsea would still have about 30 more premiership matches to over take them.

Chealsea won :cheer: and Man U lost
Tbh Man Utd are the type of teams that Arsenal are going to beat as they don't sit back. It wouldn't surprise me if their game with Sheffield next week is a huge struggle!

 Yeah right. You were going on about how we'll get thrashed only a day or two ago.

Look at last season, Arsenal failed to win a lot of games because the teams they played sat back. Look at this season, 3 teams sit back and they don't win. Utd don't sit back and they do...

I've just watched Real Madrid 2-0 Real Sociedad.

Goals by Reyes & Beckham.

David Beckham scored in injury time, by collecting the ball from the edge of his own side's box, after breaking down a Real Sociedad corner, & ended up counter-attacking dribbling past two players before dummying the goalie to put away a cool finish. It is probably the best goal he has scored in his career outside of freekicks since his goal for Man Utd against Wimbledon in 1996.

In short if Diego Maradona, George Best, Pele, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Gerrard, Lampard, C Ronaldo, Rooney, etc had scored it you would all have raved about it.

The way David Beckham is playing for Real Madrid, (yes he is a bit slow, but his crossing/passing is still a hell of a lot better than what any of the other England alternatives are for England along the right-wing, & his performance after coming on as a sub in the 73rd minute today was a hell of a lot more impressive than what Stevie G, Wayne Looney & Fat Lampard managed today), he MUST be in the next England squad, especially as we will be without Owen Hargreaves & Aaron Lennon.

Well I know I might just be thinking too hard in this but I feel Beckham could be doing a Harry Kewell here although I could be wrong. Kewell raised his game last season becuase he wanted to be fit and play for Australlia at the world cup and maybe Beckham feels the same way that by raising his game for Madrid he can cement his place in the England squad again and then let his game drop again.

Maybe Mclaren wanted Beckham to do this to show McLaren how much of a mistake he made by ommiting Becks from the squad.

On a side note though Becks is gonna be on Radio 1 tomorrow on The Chris Moyles show if what what I think I heard was correct.

Seeing as David Beckham was Real Madrid player of the season last year & was voted the 4th best player in La Liga last year with 4 goals & 31 assists for Real Madrid last season, I hardly see where he is raising his game.

I think David Beckham's problem has been three-fold:

1. Like Owen Hargreaves he has been playing in a foreign league, so he has suffered from the same "out of sight, out of mind" prejudice that English morons were booing Owen Hargreaves for. All a lot of England supporters have seen of David Beckham is that he had joined a top side which has won no silverware while he has been at the club. However, their lack of success was down to having a shocking poor defence, whilst carrying Raul & Ronaldo upfront who had clearly became parodies of the great players they once where.

2. His relationship with Sven Goran-Eriksson, the fact that as captain he was undroppable, in spite of having a quite a few in different performances in the last five year's for England particularly when he was not match fit in the 2002 World Cup & was rubbish in the 2004 European Championship. In the last five years he had certainly declined from being England's best player, to being no better than England's 7th or 8th best player, but remained as a first choice, no matter what.

3. Spanish football is slower-paced than the Premiership, therefore most Englishmen have seen, what they perceive to be a slow & lazy player who's powers have been in decline certainly from his career high against Greece in 2001.

The bottom line is that, David Beckham is certainly still the best crosser & free-kick taker that England have got & he deserves to be in the England Squad even if he is only a sub because it does not matter how many players Aaron Lennon, Steven Gerrard, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jermaine Pennant, etc can run past, none of them are as good at accurately crossing the ball as David Beckham & he is an option that England need to turn to, in the same way as using Peter Crouch.

I know were your coming through and Beckham still is a brilliant player but I just can't see McLaren eating a piece of humble pie. When England went out of the world cup a lot of England fans were extremley dissapointed as 2006 had always been billed as our year as we had the best crop of players and the best conditions to win the world cup, yet Sven just wasted our best oppotunity.

You could argue that Sol Campell should be back in the England squad as well as his performances for Pompey have been top notch this season but again I can't see McLaren letting that happen purely down to the fact he's looking to the future and I don't think he sees the likes of Campell, James or Beckham featuring for England at the euro's so he might as well try new things out with a new crop of players.

But with Hargreaves, Lennon and maybe Cole? out more midfielders need to be brought in whilst we're still fine for centre-halves. No matter what people say David Beckham is still leagues ahead of Wright-Phillips, Pennant and Gerrard (on the right wing). I will be most displeased if he doesn't work his way back into the squad at some point before the European Championships. He's proved for Real Madrid last season and looks like he will again this season, that he's just as good as he's ever been. Yes, he was poor under Sven but can you name ONE player who was consistantly good under Sven? I can't, and the ones that were probably the best were Ferdinand, Terry and Ashley Cole. Beckham was no worse than Lampard and possibly even Gerrard but they've had no stick compared to what Becks has had!

I can see were your both coming from, and I do partly think the reason Beckham was so poor for England was that Sven would never dream of dropping him and if he did there would be out cry. When McLaren dropped Beckham from the squad a lot of people were still really disappointed with our performance in the world cup and a lot of people gave Becks stick.

Now my impression on Becks has changed a bit now after hearing him on Radio 1 this morning. He came across as a nice guy and he was generally upset at the fact he'd been dropped for England and he stated he'll try his best to get back into the squad, which he will do eventually I think, but I don't quite know whether it will be this soon after he was dropped from the squad.

Yeah

Tbh Becks shoulda been dropped a while ago now, he's definately past his peak

But Sven just COULDN'T do it, cos people were like "It's Goldenballs FFS," plus there's all of the extra sponsorship money they get from him

But after this years World Cup people were sick of it, and Becks did get alot of the stick but at the end of the day he's not good enough at the moment, but who nows in the future....

He was on the front page of the Mirror this morning with a kinda warts-and-all interview about things. I almost thought this was a sign of him winding down before a retirement but I'm sure that's not for a few years yet
