I have a clear top 5 this time around and hoping one of them will win, although only two of them are new to me from this contest. Not a bad contest on the whole actually, there were very few in the final that I felt the need to skip... just wish that Skall had made it through from SF2. :'/

Dandy* who do you think are big contenders this time round?

I have no idea. I get too swayed by my own taste each time to be objective about all the tracks, especially on the poppier side of things.

 

From the odds I've seen so far, my gut feeling is that Mikky Ekko will underperform and Florina will outperform. I do think Aeroche are in with a shout too as Sulk did so well previously but we'll see...

i really really agree re: florina. i honestly wouldn't be surprised to see it land in the top 3 on monday night. i think it sounds EXACTLY like something that would win, but i think daehun and FARC will be too strong to pass over.

I'm a bit torn with this, my potential top 10 are all brilliant but after that, there's a lot more filler than there should be in a final. Semi-Final 1 in it's whole would have made a stronger final than this imo :'(

Not really an 'anti-dance bloc' but semi 2 was pretty much full of POP HOE countries who tend to not be very receptive to some genres, especially the whole chilled dance / deep house style of late. Not saying there's anything wrong with that of course, different people will always have different tastes, but Above & Beyond et al were (PROBABLY, this is a generalisation) never going to appeal that much to the likes of Ramrynia, Bellamia, Unovia, New Lexico, Sandebörg, Sandénia etc. etc. 'Cassiopeia' really got the short straw in that semi, I would watch out for it in the Rejects competition as I'm pretty sure it would have been top 10 in the final had it not had such a nightmare semi!

When you've entered the likes of Urban Cone, RHODES and Josh Record (and Tryo </3) you forfeit your title as a pop hoe :magic: (But in all seriousness I have never considered Bignia-Zaragovina to be a pop hoe country).
