FYI, "Foundation" was available as an instant grat in North America (iTunes US, Canada and Mexico) when it was uploaded another deluxe version of the album, but it's deleted now.

Love it, my most anticipated album of 2015 for the time being. "Shine" grew on me massively after a few listens, I'd say it's my third favourite behind "Real" and "King" now.

Can they make a video for Eyes Shut while they're at it, please?

Reviews for this album have been pretty harsh - but the album is so much better than they're making it out to be.

The album is out there now, for anyone who can't wait... *.* 'Gold' is great. There isn't a HUGE amount of single material on there though - I'd say 'Eyes Shut' could do well as a ballad single for them, and a 'Take Shelter' re-release might also suffice as it's still one of their strongest.

Looking forward to it going to number 1. 'Shine' has a great job of selling the album.

one can only assume it'll be a slew of re-releases from here on out...

I love the album.

I'd like 'Take Shelter' to be re-released and 'Eyes Shut' to be released.

'Eyes Shut' is beautiful - has to be released! 'Gold' is very good too although it is basically 'King' and 'Shine' merged together so probably shouldn't get a release for diversity's sake.

I have just read one of said 'reviews' from NME. No wonder it's being given away for free come September with reviews snottier than a kid with a particularly bad cold: http://www.nme.com/reviews/years-years/16152

I object to them being compared to Sam Smith. At least, from what I saw of their TFI Friday performance a few weeks back, they actually y'know, do something beyond standing at a mic stand looking pensive in black.

Gold is fantastic :)

No, seriously, aside from commenting just cos Joe's a demanding diva, I look forward to hearing this album even though I'm not the biggest of fans, I find them one of the most interesting acts around at the moment, even if I've found just about all of their songs growers.

Currently on my third listen in a row to this :magic:. A really solid effort overall and will most likely be my go-to album for the foreseeable future! Not a surprise considering I'd heard and liked/loved ~3/4 of it already but of the tracks that were new to me, 'Border' is the biggest standout right now, if only for its beaut of a chorus . 'Memo' has a very nice sentimental charm which works almost as well as the closer as 'Foundation' does opening the album. I also have a newfound appreciation for 'Eyes Shut', which never properly caught my attention before but is perhaps the lyrical highlight of the whole thing now :o. 'Take Shelter' remains the best thing they've done though (but I'm yet to hear a disappointing track from them). <3

Ohhh Andy, I just came to post that I was having a moment with 'Border'.

My favourites are Shine, Take Shelter, Eyes Shut, Border, Desire and Real.

I find King to be one of the weakest tracks because it's lacks the originality some of the other tracks have for me. I also really don't like 1977.

So I listened to this on repeat on the train back home from Newcastle today and I really enjoyed it, getting early Terence Trent D'Arby vibes from some of the tracks...

Second run-through of the album and it's really clicking with me. The highlight of it all is definitely the lyrics - really pays dividends to properly focus and take in exactly what he's singing. Which leads onto the second highlight for me which is his vocals throughout it. I thought a whole album of it would annoy me, but the varied pace and style of the album prevents that from happening.

My highlight is definitely 'Eyes Shut' a heart-crushingly beautiful song, and then of course the singles and 'Gold' are amazing too. Very impressed with it

'Eyes Open' and 'Shine' are just everything.

This is my favourite album of 2015 so far with 'Shine' easily being my favourite song
