Well I disagree that it'd be top of most televotes, genres out of left field that do well are usually more watered down or 'popified' versions of it (like Hard Rock Hallelujah) whereas this is just a pure punk song. Some people will get it (although I don't think the Tuesday night audience is going to be the most receptive audience to a punk rock song) but others (and I think, the majority of people outside Finland) will either think 'lol downs syndrome punks' or dislike it.

Jury wise, there'll be some who get it and rank it mid to high but there will be others who'll actively dislike it and put it last or near last and if you look at the data, polarising jury scores really drag down what that song ends up scoring.

Look, last year it seemed like I was the lone voice saying Belgium weren't qualifying while others were predicting them as potential winners. Doubt me at your own risk!

Just goes to show, LexC is always right (on really terrible but overhyped Eurovision songs).

BUT WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BE RIGHT :( Don't want to deal with your gloating. :/

Well done Lex, I didn't imagine Finland failing to qualify at all. So pleased though that it allowed probably Elhaida to sneak through!
LMFAO

There is literally no way in hell Finland are finishing last. That would never happen to the act who are basically the biggest media story of the year performer-wise (obviously barring Australia).

I'd say WE'LL SEE in May, but you'll probably have done a set of predictions where Finland win the semi by then.

We do see now. :)

:')

time for Semi 2 now

01 Sweden

02 Azerbaijan

03 Norway

04 Israel

05 Slovenia

06 Cyprus

08 Lithuania

09 Latvia

10 Montenegro

---

11 Ireland

12 Czech Republic

13 Poland

14 Switzerland

15 Malta

16 Portugal

17 San Marino

Following Serbia's surprise success you do wonder if Israel will have similar success following several slow songs in the exact same situation as Bojana. I'm not completely convinced still but I'm more optimistic for Nadav than I was the other day.
I'm fearful for Nadav because there is always one of my absolute favourites DNQ'ing and the results went far too well yesterday.

And I'm fearful for Czech Republic if that theory is true, although in turn, them coming after such a borefest like Portugal's entry should help them. Hopefully.

I think Nadav should have the ability to get through now, but at the moment I'm not going to be surprised either way.

I'm still under the belief that Israel are going to qualify comfortably.

Semi One

01 Belgium

02 Estonia

03 Netherlands

04 Russia

05 Greece

06 Armenia

07 Georgia

08 Serbia

09 Albania

10 Romania

Well done for me! 9/10!! I thought that Netherlands would have a place in the final.. However, I expected a better performance from Trijntje. Her vocals were good but her dress was awful and she didn't move.

Also the camera angles were awful

So I wasn't the only person who thought that. Looked so weird.

Well the director of Trijntje's performance was the same as who directed Common Linnets last year apparently. They tried to recreate the Common Linnets with their camera angles but it just didn't work for that song.

My highly inaccurate predictions:

After last night's overemphasis of Australia I can not pretend they're not pushing for their win.

On stage alongside Edurne and Lisa Angell, yet Guy Sebastian had a long conversation about how much they love Eurovision down under. Then the hosts had a little chat in French and Spanish with the other two. SHADY.

I'm calling an Aussie win now, sorry Mans.

Hun, I said finish last, not DNQ.

they probably did tho. or second to last, same shit.
