So basically, the wonderful Janelle Monáe has created her own label called Wondaland featuring new artists including Jidenna, Roman, St. Beauty and Deep Cotton. This upcoming EP is her way of introducing these artists, so the EP will include the work of all those on the label, call it a label collaboration EP if you will, like Kanye did with G.O.O.D. Music. The EP will be 5 tracks in length and will be released sometime in the near future.

 

The first song has been released from the EP to be released is 'Yoga' by Janelle herself and Jidenna. It is completely different from anything we have ever heard from Janelle before but I kind of love it. Not as much as her normal funky style but it really is a grower and I am hoping for some more traditional Janelle throughout the EP. Any new material from her I can get excited over.

 

'Yoga' is ok, but i'm not loving it. Seems a tad too abrasive and there's so much going on that i fail to follow it properly.

 

I'm still excited for more music from her though, and this record label can hopefully produce some good things!

YOGA IS IMMENSE I AM SO SLAIN RN

In love with "Yoga" right now! I really should listen to her albums - "Tightrope" and "Primetime" are tunes and this is so so hot. I, too, have been slain.
