Posted April 9, 201510 yr Is it here enough interest in combined Retrochart or it's pointless idea of mad retro pop fan ? UKMix forum have "Decades ago" series, Haven starts with 1982 year in 2014 and have 1 combined retro chart every week. What about us ? Will we have enough posters for these charts ? Which retro year / years will bring more peoples ?
April 9, 201510 yr Depends how big the personal charts have to be - I could do something for, say the 80s to mid 90s, but not likely to go much outside that range. What would the format be?
April 9, 201510 yr Author Depends how big the personal charts have to be - I could do something for, say the 80s to mid 90s, but not likely to go much outside that range. What would the format be? UKMix use top 10 from every person for week and they have 10, 20, 30...e.t.c. years ago charts every week. Haven use top 20 from every person for week and they have 1 new retro chart (current - 1983) every week.
April 9, 201510 yr Author How does this work? Every participant post their retro charts (usually top 10/20) for chosen week. You can use your old chart (if you compile them many years ago) or do new chart. Most peoples used UK and US official chart, but there is not any restriction, you can include songs from any another charts and flopped singles, if you know a date / month of release. For top 20 : 1st place in a chart of any single poster get 20 points, 2nd place - 19 points... 20th place get 1 point. Combined chart is a summary of all individual charts. April 9, 201510 yr I doubt I'd be able to keep that up. I could do an overall top 40 for each year at best but not weekly!
April 9, 201510 yr My charts are actual of the time and will all be online buzzjack from 1968 to 2004 by Xmas 2017. All years ending in 3 or 4, 8 or 9 already done B-)

That's why I always prefer a piece of paper. :)

April 16, 201510 yr I've always loved the retrochart feature on UKMix. I don't use the website, but I've thought it's a brilliant format. I just don't know if it'd translate as well over here. I like how they have a list you can vote from and provide a list of 'new entries' and songs that are due to drop out. I think something like that would be worth keeping. People might know what they like if they're looking at list of songs but might not be able to pick a list of songs from January 1986 off the top of their head. I'd be interested in this. I'm more likely to know 1990-2006 but could probably do the 80s too.

For 2 decades we can have 2 (for sample : 1987, 1997) or 4 (for sample : 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996) charts every week. We can try and will know the interest. :cheer: I can find the most world official charts, so we will not have any problems with "new entries list" for any week. I know 2000s generally aren't retro, my way of thinking was that if you did charts up to 2006 you'd end up with charts that join up to the first Buzzjack multichart and create a 'full' history for it. Some of the younger members on the website would consider 2000 a retro year with it being 15 years ago. I like the idea of having 4 charts a week, it won't take long for people to do a top 10/20 for each. It depends what sort of workload the compiler wants to take on, but I think it's definitely worth giving it a go. ^_^
