Krewella - "Somewhere To Run"

Non-album Single

Chart Run: 45-33... (02 weeks)

Getting greatest gainer honors this week are the comeback queens themselves, Krewella! The Yousaf sisters are back with a vengeance and here to prove their naysayers wrong after a dirty split with former third member Rain Man. This was pretty much all the difference. It's in your face, it's just as hard-hitting as "Alive", and it's powerful. Ladies, we've missed you.

DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge - "You Know You Like It"

Non-album Single

Chart Run: 49-39-33-32-32... (05 weeks)

So personal story: I was sorta into the original version after it became a free single on iTunes because, you know, I like paying attention to things that I got with a budget. I like saving money tbh. Sadly, it was rampaged by the influx of summer songs that I was listening back in '13. Then this remix came and it started impacting radio, and I was a bit shocked. Now I kinda like this a lot more than I should.

David Gueta f/Nicki Minaj & Afrojack - "Hey Mama"

6th Single, Listen

Chart Run: 40-31... (02 weeks)

This was, for me, the standout single-turned-guilty pleasure for me with this album, mainly because it found a bunch of opposition. This becoming a single changed that, I believe. Not only does Nicki slay in her verses, but so does Bebe Rexha in delivering such a jungle-like atmosphere. It's absolutely brilliant.

This was actually a surprise for me. I never knew a song like this would be so damn catchy, yet so fresh and innovating. It kinda sounds like something that would be in a cartoon. And I kinda like that aspect.

Non-album Single

Chart Run: 41-31-28... (03 weeks)

This is, no doubt, a sure fire smash. It's as euphoric as some of the other EDM big shots yet it doesn't stay too generic. The duo's style is incredible: a touch of hard-hitting drops and bass with the soft melodies existent within this song.

Madonna - "Living For Love""

Lead Single, Rebel Heart

Chart Run: 28-21-13-11-8-9-11-21-27... (09 weeks)

Well, we all know that Madonna pretty much fell on her butt during the BRITs after she was dragged by her cape and sent flying. She can make even a fall iconic. That's how powerful this woman is. But enough about her: while this song didn't gain the longevity most people think it deserved, it surely pleased us when she performed it whenever she did.

Pretty impressive chart run. This song first charted when I believed that it was gaining some attention in the US, due to it getting added in my local stations' playlists. They went with "Outside" first, which was why this lingered outside the top 5 for a few weeks, but then the video came and sent the song shooting up to #1. Right when it has became tiring to keep this song so high up, it became the next US single. Where this will take it, I do not know yet.

From one song about prayer to another. And this one stuck around longer than the previous song! This was also a UK #1 that somehow made a late transfer to the US, but I wasn't too concerned about that. This is the second time a Robin Schulz track has mesmerized me as much as "Waves" did. I wonder why he didn't bother releasing a third single from that album to the UK and US...

Chart Contender:

Tinashe - "All Hands On Deck"

3rd single, Aquarius

This new and hot track by Tinashe is one of three of this week's chart contenders of the week. When it comes to songs that are absolutely hard-hitting and dance-worthy, she's your girl. And boy is she good at what she does best. Will this chart? Will it go high? We'll see.

From one UK #1 to another. It just seems like we're playing a game of Chain Reaction here. Anyway, this is the trio's first entry into the chart, let alone their first top 30. This is also starting to take off in the US, with a San Diego station on board. Guess I know which one I'll be tuning in for this song. :P

Taylor Swift - "Blank Space"

2nd Single, 1989

Chart Run: 34-2-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-2-2-4-6-7-9-11-15-20-22-23-24-26-23... (23 weeks)

Since senior year, I've always thought that Taylor Swift has spoken to me at a spiritual level. It's like she got me. This song was pretty much the bulk of my high school career. And that was the most bad-ass part of loving this song. There is that guy I had a rivalry with and it did seem like I wanted to kill him at times. But y'know, every page always has a blank space. It's up to you whether or not to sign your life away.

Chart Run: 48-45-40-30-29-25-22... (07 weeks)

Charli XCX is absolutely brilliant. She explained in a radio spot for Pepsi that this song was supposed to bring a euphoric 80's summer sound, almost like The Breakfast Club meets Clueless. Rita is like the seasoning to this already amazing track, tbh.

Now this was a surprise. I never thought I'd be getting into this song when it was first released, but I thought, "Why not buy it as a free single and wait until it actually clicks with me?" It eventually did when I kept hearing it on the radio. Such a banger, it is.

Many people on Buzzjack know Tori Kelly as the vocalist on Professor Green's "Lullaby". Now, she's got her own single and a lot of spunk to prove it. It's a pretty nice song and the production kinda reminds me of "Problem".

Nicki Minaj f/Drake & Lil Wayne - "Truffle Butter"

5th Single, The Pinkprint

Chart Run: 48-37-29-24-20-14-12-14-18... (09 weeks)

A shock single for the album is the #18 song this week. This somehow got an exorbitant amount of airplay after "Bed Of Lies" barely received a push in the US. It also entered the top 10 in US Rhythmic airplay at around the same time "Only" reached the top 5. This won out. Not surprised though: the song is beyond catchy.
