Inspired by events in the other thread, our very own Iz has Nightcored (to the uninitiated, to Nightcore a song is to raise the pitch and speed it up to give it a fresh energy) this year's compilation album. For your viewing pleasure:

 

 

(My own personal recommendation of this bunch is Iceland but there are a few that really work with about 40 seconds shaved off)

 

Share any other ESC or MF (yes, MF Nightcores are a thing) related Nightcores in this thread for all of our listening delights.

 

P.S. the premise of this thread is mainly to get Iz's video to a few thousand views by the end of May, getem, getem, getem!

I did use the original versions of the mp3s so songs like Italy's are a bit longer - and if you want to find a particular song it's in the video description. My personal favourite is Estonia from this mix.

Actually, now I remember, doing this was what made me grant MOLDOVA amnesty. Yeah, that one's very preferable in nightcore version.

Moldova is QUITE the romp in nightcore.

Just listening to a few songs from Iz's video now, 'I'm Alive' is quite incredible isn't it - a Nightcore version that is still a ballad with that amazing ending :wub:

Eclipse have great voices for this (especially with that opening note). That's true of SOME rock bands, most notably The Cab (of Angel With A Shotgun fame) but not all of them - I really like finding out which rock bands will work out well with a pitch shift. I may have to test out some past Melodi-rock entries. From jumping around, Don't Worry and Ain't No Good sound great with a bit MORE speed to them.

 

Something I'd never thought to do Lex actually, great effort, and the mixing sounds just fine.

 

aside: I am naturally going to be working on a sequel to my video last year once all the entries are out as I've now got 27 thousand views on that. *.*

Oh and it's so obvious but with its already kawaii credentials, Rollercoaster just sounds even BETTER like this.

Killer Girl sounds like a CULT INDUCTION sped up (and in many ways it WAS *.*)

Actually now I listen everything from Weight of the World through Youniverse is HIGHLY MOREISH

 

As far as I can tell (Ryan will correct me if not) all the revamps are out aside from Moldova's and it doesn't sound like it'll be THAT different, plus I uploaded at this time last year so any more that are waiting in the wings have MISSED THE BOAT.

 

All I can think of for comments is that Frans' accent shows through even more than normal here.

Moldova's revamp should already be out by now if it is any different as I think the release date was the Monday just gone, not that I've heard it!

 

My tastes may have biased this just a little but I've chosen to open with Estonia and close with Belarus and both of those sound WONDERFUL in this form (it was pointed out to me before I uploaded it how good Verona sounds in nightcore and I've had to have that on repeat a little).

 

For a couple I'm not so much a fan of in the normal versions that have been really improved by this, I'd definitely pick out Germany and Greece - both of those have dance synths so it's kinda natural but I almost like them a lot better now.

 

(there is empty space where Sweden, Hungary and Belgium should be because of record labels being overzealous, refusing to let any form of their song be reuploaded at all, I'm not TOO sad over this but I recall Origo was also sounding rather fabulous in this form)

I rarely get the hype or point around nightcores but I gave Estonia and Belarus a listen and I agree both sound awesome! :heart:

Loving Austria in nightcore! Also Armenia is about 10 times better than the original, they should go with that in Kyiv. Estonia still my favourite as it's just so magical anyway but this really lifts it to angelic :heart:

Lost Greece, Cyprus (:(), Azerbaijan and Spain to record labels blocking any usage of those songs in Youtube videos worldwide as with last year. Bit of a crapshoot, there's no way to tell before uploading and it took me a whole day to upload it so the silence will just have to remain.

 

Opening with Israel makes for a great start though.
