Galantis - "Runaway (U & I)"

Non-album Single

Chart Run: 41-31-28-20... (03 weeks)

The first top 20 entry is Galantis with "Runaway (U & I)". This is, no doubt, a sure fire smash. It's as euphoric as some of the other EDM big shots yet it doesn't stay too generic. The duo's style is incredible: a touch of hard-hitting drops and bass with the soft melodies existent within this song.

Sia f/The Weeknd & Diplo - "Elastic Heart"

2nd single, 1000 Forms Of Fear

Chart Run: 50-45-41-41-40-38-xx-(RE)27-24-16-17-16-16-14-10-10-11-14-19... (18 weeks)

First off, it had a little bit of extra chart run room due to it charting as a cherry-pick from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, despite some duds like the extremel boring "Atlas" and the utterly typical "We Remain". Second off, PRAISE MADDIE. If this video wasn't released with such controversy, it probably wouldn't have been on my chart right now. Hey, same peak at the UK!

Years & Years - "King"

2nd Single, Communion

Chart Run: 44-35-31-28-24-18... (06 weeks)

This previous #1 jumps up 6 spots this week. It just seems like we're playing a game of Chain Reaction here. Anyway, this is the trio's first entry into the chart, let alone their first top 30. This is also starting to take off in the US, with a San Diego station on board. Guess I know which one I'll be tuning in for this song. :P

Chart Contender #4:

Katy Tiz - "Whistle (While You Work It)"

Non-album single

The fourth contender for the chart this week comes from Katy Tiz, who entered US airwaves through her cover of Rock Mafia's "The Big Bang" (which also made the chart before). This time, she's come out with another original song, and this one is amazingly catchy. It's a potential for next month lol.

Non-album single

Chart Run: 44-34-20-17-17... (05 weeks)

Still remaining in that top 20 position is Cash Cash with "Surrender". Y'know, for four weeks, its chart run is rather impressive. The trio landed themselves their third charter last month, and it only took them three weeks for this to out peak "Take Me Home". That just proves that the US is mishandling them unlike what they're doing in other countries.

Walk The Moon - "Shut Up And Dance"

Lead Single, Talking Is Hard

Chart Run: 50-48-43-35-30-21-16... (07 weeks)

The next top 20 entry goes to Walk The Moon with their insta-hit, "Shut Up And Dance". Now this was a surprise. I never thought I'd be getting into this song when it was first released, but I thought, "Why not buy it as a free single and wait until it actually clicks with me?" It eventually did when I kept hearing it on the radio. Such a banger, it is.

Taylor Swift - "Style"

3rd single, 1989

Chart Run: 38-18-8-4-4-6-7-5-5-6-8-10-15... (13 weeks)

The end of an era  Dropping 5 spots to #15 is Taylor Swift with "Style". Just about anything from that album is perfection, but this was one of the true standouts of 1989. It kinda sounded like a country version of a mix between "Jealous" and "Do What U Want" in the production, and tbh this is one of the most country songs on the album - being that it sounds like it could come out of her last three albums. Taylor looks beautiful in the video, the effects are trippy, and the aesthetics are spot-on.

The Weeknd - "Earned It"

Soundtrack single, Fifty Shades Of Grey

Chart Run: 45-30-28-24-24-16-13-12-14... (09 weeks)

Dropping two spots is the second of the soundtrack songs from Fifty Shades Of Grey as well as the second Weeknd song. It's the sultry R&B/soul type of songs that become his identity, and I think that's what made this song pop out so much. Right now, the song is aiming for #1 in US pop airplay, so we'll see if it gets there.

Tove Lo - "Talking Body"

3rd single, Queen Of The Clouds

Chart Run: 15-3-3-2-2-3-2-5-6-8-9-9-11-13... (14 weeks)

Down two spots is the upcoming UK hit, "Talking Body". I have been saying this since the album was released: this is the best song she's ever put her name into. It's upbeat, it's fun, and more importantly, it's HOT. I fell in love with this when I first listened to the album, and I had been waiting anxiously for it to become a single. Y'all can tell just from that chart run what happened when it finally did. This picking up on US radio should give this song some serious longevity.

Up 3 spots is a song that merely got as high as it did because I fell in love with te Jhenè Aiko remix. I'M IN LOVE WITH HIS ALBUM. I had always thought that his team was going to return to this single when he first released "Jealous", and because that became a huge hit they decided to release this. My theory still holds true. This song is pretty hard-hitting and kinda reminds me of a Bastille song.

David Gueta f/Nicki Minaj & Afrojack - "Hey Mama"

6th Single, Listen

Chart Run: 40-31-11... (03 weeks)

The Greatest Gainer this week goes to current Guetta single, "Hey Mama". This was, for me, the standout single-turned-guilty pleasure for me with this album, mainly because it found a bunch of opposition. This becoming a single changed that, I believe. Not only does Nicki slay in her verses, but so does Bebe Rexha in delivering such a jungle-like atmosphere. It's absolutely brilliant.

Liam will probably be happy at this doing so well. However, releasing near the same time as Conor, Carly and Zedd really hurt the song's performance, as flawless as the song actually is. The video was pretty simplistic and gave me The Fray teas, especially with the meteor scene. I still think this will be a pretty big song, though.

Ryn Weaver - "OctaHate"

Lead single, The Fool

Chart Run: 41-29-22-16-13-9... (06 weeks)

The lone top 10 entry goes to Ryn Weaver with her lead single, "OctaHate". Just like "Shut Up And Dance", I was a bit resistant to checking this song out, with my main concern being that it wasn't going to be on iTunes. At least it did now. Anyway, she's about to release The Fool later on this year, but hey, a little bit of pre-summer promo never hurt nobody. It was so different from all the other songs released this ear: it was more avant-grade. Pre-order The Fool on iTunes now.

This is probably the best Flo Rida has done in AGES and it's SEVERELY underrated here in BuzzJack. I don't understand. Anyway, I first heard this song back in August, and this didn't get a pop push until January. So that took a long time to grow on me. I think it was on my reserve playlist for a few months before I actually began to chart it (and subsequently whore it out). But yeah, a bunch of people here need to re-listen to this, because I don't get the hate.

Also the end of an era  but he'll probably get back up there come release week in a few days

*insert something about stanning for him and "YAAAAAS CONOR YOU LOOK SO GOOD"  :cheer: :cheer:* As you can tell, Conor has had an amazing track record in my chart, with him logging in two more weeks at the #1 spot for him with this song, let alone his first #1 debut. As much as I want his song to go to #1, I hope it does well to prove the naysayers that Conor is back and can still make a splash on the charts.

Up next is a former #1 - the 50th #1 of the chart, "I Really Like You". It's a fun and light track for Carly and I'm so relieved that she's returned to the spotlight. This seems poised to become a huge UK #1, so to you guys, I say, "Lucky!"

Natalie ha Rose. *.* I am probably one of the only people on this forum who didn't discover this song through BJSC but through other means - US radio. That phrase has been coming up a lot lately - shall we play a drinking game? I kid. But this song is a party-starter. Now it's gotten so big, even people saying her name is ikonek in a sense! Jason DeRulo teas :o Also, Jeremih, I somewhat forgive you for "Don't Tell Em".
