That's because people were buying the album instead of the single. 110,000 copies of Headlines! were sold during Missing You's chart run. That had to have had an effect on Missing You's sales, no?

Go on, go on, go on, bye bye. Chasing Lights leaves the countdown next. This is clearly a fan favorite and always has been. I've never liked it which is made obvious by where I ranked it, but I don't hate it either. It's just there for me but I guess I can see why most of you enjoy it as it's an unoffensive track with a nice enough melody. It's also their best selling non-single and 18th biggest selling song overall. I still don't think it's any better than Deeper.

So this is where it all began. I have to say that despite me ranking it low (I should've put it higher honestly), I'm glad it managed #19. If This Is Love tends to get a bad rap and I believe the girls have shaded it several times in the past, but it is what got them noticed and it is a decent song. It's crazy to watch the performance above and think about how far they've come since then. Frankie tripped and Mollie couldn't even be assed to keep the mic up to her mouth for her entire line. Well, maybe much hasn't changed after all :kink:

By their standards, it definitely was a hit, that I really don't disagree... it's more about the fact that, as you've pointed out yourself, it was hands down the song for which they got the most support, yet, it really doesn't look like it when you see the actual numbers.

 

I can't help but feel had you given that sort of airplay and promo to, let's say, a song like 'Disco Love', it would have sold more than 220k.

'Chasing Lights' and 'If This Is Love' are both brilliant songs.

I am shocked I was one of the bottom 3 rankers for Chasing Lights. However the album version isn't great when compared to the acoustic/live version. The music on the album version sounds like a cheap midi ringtone off a old phone.

Woauhhwooouhooohhh (playback kicks in). We will never forget the iconic bum note that Mollie provided us with on Saturday Night Takeaway. Work is a really solid pop song and I think I may be one of the few people who actually loves the music video. The song and video are a bit on the raunchy side (for them) but I think it’s nice to see them try and be edgy every once in a while. This song deserved a much higher chart peak, especially because all those Michael Jackson songs kept it from the Top 20. It still managed decent sales though, especially for a fifth single. Liam, Hurricane, Lee, and Will all placed Work in their Top 10.

Woohoo! So glad 30 Days made it at as high as #17. It would be #9 if we took away UV’s score and it's crazy to think one person's questionable taste can have such an impact. Still, it managed a respectable average of 19.88 and our first average higher than 20. I know 30 Days has ended up as one of their forgotten singles but I do think it did pretty well coming off the back of My Heart Takes Over. It was #2 in the midweeks and managed to keep them in the spotlight between campaigns, possibly helping What About Us become as big as it did. Some classify the song as generic or boring but I love it and I do think it’s their best music video. We all know it belonged on On Your Radar though.

'30 Days' is a jam. I can't believe I only ranked it 38th! :( I always seem to underrate it. If I was doing the order myself I'd have placed it a good 10 positions or so higher. But then again, they have some incredible album tracks... No way does it deserve to be joint with 'Work' on my rankings. 'Work''s placing for me is about right tbh. I find it good, but overrated and pretty average.

Up next we have the amazing ballad that is My Heart Takes Over. Not only is the original flawless, but the many remixes we’ve been blessed with are amazing as well. The music video is gorgeous and makes me want to travel to Iceland. MHTO should’ve done so much better in the charts, it’s not even funny. I have no idea what happened or why it didn’t connect with the public, but it proves to be a fan favorite ranking at #16 in this countdown. My Heart Takes Over got three Top 3 rankings and six Top 10 rankings. Overall it received very high scores but three very low scores brought down its average substantially.

I would wait for you, I would wait all night. Unfortunately two of the girls’ best ballads are out back to back. Last Call is incredible and is one of the few very emotive tracks on On Your Radar. The girls delivered it very well on tour and I wonder if it would’ve fared any better than My Heart Takes Over had it been released. Last Call received very few low scores which helped it to sneak its way into the Top 15 of this countdown.
