Janine & The Mixtape - XX EP

So I just came across this girl, a wonderful singer/songwriter from New Zealand, who has been signed to Atlantic Records. Janine has just dropped her EP on May 12th, and it really is giving me life atm. Obviously not knowing much about her before hand, I wasn't expecting too much but throughout the EP's 6 tracks, I was captivated by how beautiful her melodies were along with her incredibly versatile vocals. At times she sounds like Jessie Ware-esque and then at others her big Christina Aguilera vocals come out. It is just a gorgeously subtle EP and already one of my favourite releases of the year, only from a few listens. I needed some subtle alt-R&B and this completely fits the bill.
