I really enjoyed the final last night. I went in not knowing any of the songs beforehand which made it interesting. My ranking (after a bit of re-listening this morning):

01. Belgium Loïc Nottet - Rhythm Inside

02. Latvia Aminata - Love Injected

03. Sweden Måns Zelmerlöw - Heroes

04. Russia Polina Gagarina - A Million Voices

05. Georgia Nina Sublatti - Warrior

Keep going back to Latvia now i've been reminded of it, so that could become my favourite from the contest eventually :o

I'm also still in love with Aminata's Love Injected  keep repeating it whole day

My top 3 last night:

1. Latvia - Love Injected

2. Georgia - Warrior

3. Sweden - Heroes

1. Aminata - Love Injected

2. Nadav Guedj - Golden Boy

3. Nina Sublatti - Warrior

4. Elina & Stig - Goodbye To Yesterday

I can't see myself going back to many of the others.

How do YOU think? Is there a way to determine who is last if both songs got ZERO points?

I think they have determined - Austria have been placed last by virtue of getting fewer points on televoting.

Austria pleasingly being a TOTALLY LEGITIMATE nul pointer by virtue of getting no points both on televotes and combined *.*

Oh, Germany is not last YAY! :cheer:

Still a bit ridiculous that Austria came so high with the juries though. Ugh.

May I tell that it's the best Eurovision contest I've ever seen. Maybe there wasn't any particular stand-out (like Loreen or Rybak) but the overall song and performances quality was in 90% of cases at least not shit. This is the first time ever I was able to pick more than 3-4 songs/performances that I actually solidly liked.

This is also the first time for me when my own country has made an outstanding performance, so I could actually get behind our entry, which was pleasing too.

My top-9 was:

1. Latvia

2. Australia

3. Sweden

4. Russia

5. Georgia

6. Belgium

7. Serbia

8. Estonia

9. Slovenia

Top-3 songs were:

1. Latvia

2. Belgium

3. Sweden

And the top-3 performances were:

1. Russia

2. Australia

3. Sweden

Australia bringing that top quality in the whole package out there. *.* Hopefully they return next year.

soz to bump this but apparently Austria are indeed not last officially because of the tiebreak rule of giving precedence to the country which was earlier in the running order.

Kinda disappointing :'(

No, Austria is last because Germany has points from the televote.

That's what I read somewhere anyway.

The official rules I read don't seem to have anything about giving preference to the song that got most televote points. It's probably just the deciding factor for combining votes from juries + televoting.

I literally have no idea and I can't point you to where I read that but that's what I remember, and it would make sense if that was the case.

Poor Ann Sophie.

Thank god the bookies paid out on Austria before realising this loophole.

maybe right there?~

TIRREN, EBU'S TIE BREAKER. Dream job teas right there! *.*

I've never read that televoting thing as an official rule before, I just knew the rule where it advantages the song performed earlier in the running order so therefore Austria beat Germany by 3 running order places!
If this is true about Austria beating Germany based on the running order then how ridiculous! It seems much fairer to do it that Austria is last based on the televoting result.

tbh I think that rule was introduced before the current voting system started to exist.
