September 13, 20159 yr They're approaching fans on Twitter and I happened to be one of the UK based fans. When I said I'd be interested, the assistant producer rang me to discuss it. I said I'd seen on Twitter the other groups fans they are trying to contact for other shows in the series - Rudimental, Take That, Little Mix amongst others. I said that compared to the others Hurts seem an odd one in the mix (not that I'm complaining). He said some of it is down to the artists who are free - but then said that didn't mean Hurts were definitely playing. He was playing his cards close to his chest lol
October 6, 20159 yr I like it   YkxndCBYhzs So do I. It's just WOW! Am I right in thinking only Some Kind of Heaven is an "official" single. Or is Lights too? It's just they were on TV on Sunday promoting Lights.
October 7, 20159 yr So do I. It's just WOW! Am I right in thinking only Some Kind of Heaven is an "official" single. Or is Lights too? It's just they were on TV on Sunday promoting Lights. 'Some Kind of Heaven' and 'Lights' are the official singles :) I've loved all the songs so far, looking forward to hearing the album
October 9, 20159 yr The entire album is now on their youtube channel !! But I'll wait a few more days lol.
October 9, 20159 yr I didn't really listen to pretty much anything they released yet this era but going through this album now. Rolling Stone is beyond stunning! That instrumental in the chorus! FUCKING MASSIVE *.*
October 17, 20159 yr The album entered the charts at number 12 yesterday. I don't think the midweeks is until Monday or Tuesday now.
October 17, 20159 yr Really quite happy with this. It's not as good as Happiness, but it's so much better than Exile (which was probably one of the most disappointing albums I've ever listened to). It's just nice to see they're still capable really. Of the non-singles I really like Wings and Policewoman, and much as it's a blatant sell-out of a track that they shouldn't have gone anywhere near, I can't help but repeatedly go back to Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us.
October 17, 20159 yr Slow is actually my life. I am so insanely obsessed with this album it's not even funny.
October 21, 20159 yr The album entered the charts at number 12 yesterday. I don't think the midweeks is until Monday or Tuesday now. #12 is kinda disappointing, but given they have zero promotion I am happy to take any Top 1000 chart positions. :(
October 25, 20159 yr I doubt it, and they had a pretty horrid campaign so far. I'd rather release Some kind of Heaven in at the beginning of September, they just left the album release for too long.
October 25, 20159 yr You're right Red Blooded Man. It put Lights on ITunes, but not very high. I don't mind Lights, but I'm not keen on it sung live as it sounds like Theo struggles with the high notes. I think they should have gone with Nothing will be bigger than Us rather than Lights. There was talk on Popjustice forum that they reckon Hurts will be dropped by Sony. I really hope they're wrong, but then maybe a different record company would do a better job of promoting them, especially over here in the UK.
October 25, 20159 yr I am not sure who will sign Hurts if they are dropped... I have to say their fanbase is kinda split between Indie and Pop and there seems to be nothing that can bridge that divide.
October 26, 20159 yr I must be in the minority. I actually like both their Indie and pop stuff. It's actually Theo's voice that I like. He could sing me the Phone Book and I'd be happy.
October 30, 20159 yr Me too ! But I reckon no record company have the faintest idea to market them properly at the moment.
October 30, 20159 yr I don't think they've had a clue from start to finish with them. Exile was poorly promoted and I feel that Surrender has been just as bad. They released Some kind of heaven without any promotion here in the UK at all. It had the potential of being huge, but instead it bombed here. I'm really hoping they'll release Nothing will be bigger than us and it gets decent promotion, but I'm not holding my breath.
October 30, 20159 yr Finally got round to listening to this, and i think it's a brilliant album! I don't know why some people always look down on "going pop". Pop music is a hard genre to pull off but they've really made it work with this, with some delightful, joyous and sprightly songs. His voice really suits them too! It's a change of direction for them and they've pulled it off, so well done i say! I understand it may alienate some fans that wanted more of the same from them but being a non-diehard fan i can enjoy and appreciate this as a separate piece of work to their other albums and get a lot from it. Really solid album <3 'Nothing Will Be Bigger Than Us' is splendid
