Evergreen/Anything is possible would never have done so well if it hadn't been on the back of pop idol. He has done far better stuff including jealousy and leave right now.

 

True, but it was also very of its time, the 'victory lap ballad' which they tend not to do now with most winner's singles, I'd like to think. Even now, when I hear it or Gareth's 'Unchained Melody' I immediately think of that first series of 'Pop Idol' and all the mania around it of that time, and as Will himself said above it's where it takes you back to. The fact it's a cover of a Westlife song almost becomes irrelevant.

Friday's Child is my fave, under-rated. I thought Leave Right Now was older than 2 years though :P (typo)
