hardly.... kids like you would obviously rather spoon-fed glossy horror - I blame c**p like Scream and the glam-horror we've been given by the studios these days.

I suggest checking out some of the REAL horror genre... yes, the Japanese movies, Romero, Coscarelli and some of the other Italian directors before you try to be clever with droll comments like 'touche'. Then you can join this discussion with some knowledge.

Thank you.

yes but whats makes you so great to think youre opinion is right?

Just because me and chemical halo liked this film doesnt mean were stupid and inexperienced

I dont like any Japanese films because I find reading subtitles ruins the horror effect!

You may love them, so what, different opinions :drink:

And I happen to have actually studied Film, and done the research, so I reckon I know a wee bit more about it than you do dude....

No offence....

NOBODY CARES.

You're not going to change someone's opinion just because you think your knowledge is the dog's nads.

Yeaaaah, sorry for not knowing everything about films from the 18th century at 16 yrs of age...ASIF!

And I was agreeing with Callum on the fact that if you say "Oh I like this film", or suchlike, one of your kind come in with all this "Oh look at me I'm Japanese" lark or wtfev when it has NOTHINNNNNNNG to do with the film/thread; it's just a lameass attempt to portray how much you know abuot film and patronise everyone.

So save all your film knowledge for someone who cares because it's not impressing me. Tah.

:yahoo: agreed

it seems people cant like films without some know it all coming in and bashing us calling us stupid

Oh FFS!!! Dont you get the fact that the makers of the film DID NOT EXACTLY HAVE A BIG BUDGET???? So they couldn't really afford all the fancy make up effects, and yeah, Hooper was bloody inventive, he took a tiny budget and made one of the greatest horror films of all time, people still talk about "Texas Chainsaw Massacre despite it's budgetary limitations, and people will still talk about it when trash like the remake falls by the wayside, BECAUSE IT WAS BLOODY A GOOD FILM WITH A GREAT SCRIPT (something the pile of sh!t remake could never be accused of..).... You're applying modern standards on a film that was made OVER 30 FUKKIN' YEARS AGO!!!

Sorry, but this sort of churlishness really pisses me off.... I suppose you'll be criticising the fact that George Romero used 'fake-looking' pig intestines in "Night of the Living Dead" next.....

at which point did that i didn't like the film, it scared me to death, i love being scared to death, all i was saying is it wouldn't hurt to use a normal person for the grandad than a puppet, if that was what they used, i resect your comments but there is no need to critise mine it's only a film after all, oh and i haven't seen night of the living dead, is it any good?

Anyway back on topic!

I really like this remake, felt it was creepy and scary but not as giry as expected ! But the sheriff was freakier than the chainsaw dude

I was going to watch Night Of The Living Dead later, I've had it for ages but never got round to seeing it.

Has anyone seen it?

No, its supposed to be quite good though

Talking of horror films, I watched House of Wax last night and really surprised at how good it was ^_^ I thought it would be cheap with no gore and terrible acting but the gore was great and some parts really grossed me out  Plus Paris Hilton wasn't that bad actually

I hated the bit where he drags his nails along the wall and they come off. It's horrible!

I actually cringed at that bit, I hate stuff like that :puke2:

OMG THAT'S THE WORST EVER!!!

[Mike Vogel would well get it something awffy].

i agree, there was something different about it because i watched the original first and i was scared of it, but i knew what i was going to happen, how wrong was i, within the first 5 minutes i thought i was watching something completely different, it was a really good film and you can't really say it wasn't as good as the original because both had different characters and a different script, infact the only similarities between the two films were the title and the killer that's about it, but even the killer seemed diffent

i.e.... just now.

Your droll, pathetic and frankly stupid "Nobody cares" comment - oh please - shouldn't you be trying to shock your parents with black lipstick, dear? Because you're boring the pants off the adults discussing a movie on here.

Thank you.

What a lame excuse, as if there was that much dialogue in The Ring or The Grudge anyway... and the long, protracted scary bits DONT HAVE dialogue in them, so how can subtitles 'ruin' the effect as you put it...?

So STOP trying to pretend you've actually watched any J-Horrors....

It wasnt a puppet, it was an actor....

You know, maybe if you actually wrote in PROPER FUKKIN' ENGLISH it might make your case a little more easy for the rest of us to digest and maybe I could actually engage with your argument if I actually knew what the hell you were prattling on about ... I'm sorry, but I am gonna start DELETING THREADS if they are written in this godawful, vernacular, 'txtspk' c**p..... We actually have people on this site whose first language is not English, and it isn't fair on them if those of us who are actually NATIVES dont use the bloody Queen's English; you know, proper sentence structures, proper spelling of words, etc....All the stuff you no doubt find 'pure dead boring'.

Well, tough sh!t, learn how to do it or dont bloody post here..... I am wearing my Mod Hat now, so you better listen up....

OH, and that applies to EVERYBODY who does this sh!t!!!! Not just Chemical Halo by the way.....

I blame c**p like Scream and the glam-horror we've been given by the studios these days.

Totally Russ, what's happened is that the Horror genre has been sanitised by Hollywood and rendered 'safe'.... So when something genuinely shocking and grungy like "Devils Rejects" comes out, the "Scream" generation just doesn't know how the hell to process it because it has a totally contradictory and almost surreal tone in any given moment (one minute you're laughing at Capt Spaulding, next you're shocked by his horrific assault on that woman whose car he steals...) and because it's such a psychological head-fukk; and it doesn't star these 'pretty pretty' "Dawsons Creek" clones who seem to litter the "Scream"-type horrors....

Acutally, one thing that just made me howl about the "Texas Chainsaw..." remake was the fact that the producers spent MILLIONS in giving the film a 'grainy', washed-out look through some fancy computer editing techniques; well, Tobe Hooper achieved more or less EXACTLY the same grainy, washed out look in the original simply by shooting the film in 16mm film stock and then just blowing it up to 35mm for viewing in commercial cinemas, which would have cost next to nowt to do....

Hollywood, more money than sense really, or indeed, creativity....

How is what I write NOT proper English? =s.

Just because I don't use "clever" words like lexicon, parphanalia, and necrophiliac or what the hell ever. It was blatently easy to understand, bet you're well just gutted because I critiscised y'all.

I'M THICK ALRIGHT, STOP MAKING A BEEHIVE OUT OF A MOUNTAIN. Or however the phrase is, I don't care. And if people can't understand what I write it's there issue - asif I'm concerened about anyone on here. CIAO!

See, you can do it when you want to.....

Oh, and another tip, pale blue....? Not exactly the best font colour for clarity now, is it....?

And your total lack of respect for the fact that there are people on here that do not have English as a first language, says a hell of a lot more about you than it does about me or anyone else... So it's "their issue" if English isnt their first language and they might find it a bit hard to understand things....? Ignorance and xenophobia....?

And I'm certainly NOT afraid to take on a silly, petulant little teenager who's gonna get a banning from this Forum if she's not bloody careful.....
