September 30, 200618 yr See, you can do it when you want to..... Oh, and another tip, pale blue....? Not exactly the best font colour for clarity now, is it....? And your total lack of respect for the fact that there are people on here that do not have English as a first language, says a hell of a lot more about you than it does about me or anyone else... So it's "their issue" if English isnt their first language and they might find it a bit hard to understand things....? Ignorance and xenophobia....? And I'm certainly NOT afraid to take on a silly, petulant little teenager who's gonna get a banning from this Forum if she's not bloody careful..... Yeah but do it anyway =s. But it's a pretty colour! :o And I didn't mean that reaaally. I meant that the only times I use 'text' language is when I abbriviate words down to "obv" or "blates", and it doesn't exactly take Bruce Springstein to figure out what they mean tbh. Oh, okay, hah, sorry :(. I'm not petulant though! I was just saying.

But put yourself in the shoes of one of our non-UK posters who are not gonna get the idea of what 'obv' or 'blates' actually is; I know what you mean because I'm a native English speaker and know how to break all the rules. But you can only break the rules once you are familiar with them first, and for our non-UK posters, their familiarity with the English language may not be at the level where they will understand your abbreviations.... Just bear it in mind, we have posters from all over the world here.... :) Sorry for my rantiness, I just get so fed up of seeing it and I do think it's kinda disrespectful to others, and it keeps others whose command of English may not be so great from being able to join in with the debates.... ...And Bruce Springsteen???? You are a random little thing arent you....?

I just don't really like admitting when I'm in the wrong even though I know it, ahah. I couldn't think of any famous telepathic-ey people!

I think youre being extremly harsh on this girl Why don't you accept it that we liked this film ? Why is that so hard for you to accept

October 1, 200618 yr And I dont mean to start arguments on here. I respect both of your opinions but Im just fed up of being told what films are c**p etc, when i can make up my own mind
October 1, 200618 yr Yes but non English posters arent going to understand the long words you splurt out every post WRONG!! My girlfriend is Polish, she has an extremely good English vocabulary (much better than about half of the bloody natives in this country if you ask me...), she only has problems with slang and vernacular; when a language is taught it is taught using the proper words, grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc..... So this post would have no problems being understood by our non-English posters, whereas a post full of abbreviations and 'txtspk' will be....
October 1, 200618 yr And I dont mean to start arguments on here. I respect both of your opinions but Im just fed up of being told what films are c**p etc, when i can make up my own mind Fair enough, but dont come on here and think you can say that I, Russ and Tigerboy dont know what we're talking about... You have to watch a hell of a lot of different sorts of films and do comparisons in order to formulate a lucid, well thought out argument, and you have to detune yourself from the dominant Hollywood cinema in order to fully appreciate a film from another culture; because they dont make films like Hollywood does, why the hell should they...? It's not your fault, you, like the vast majority of cinema-goers unfortunately, have just been brainwashed into the false belief that there is only one type of way to make a film - the Hollywood way...
October 1, 200618 yr Why don't you accept it that we liked this film ? Why is that so hard for you to accept Because you havent given a valid reason as to why you say it's better than the original... I just dont see how anyone who calls themselves a Horror fan can like something so laughable, something so clearly fake and so clearly made with absolutely no intention to respect the original film in any way.... For example - the bit where they pick up the girl... why is she walking in the same direction that the van is travelling when that is the direction she clearly states she doesn't want to go.....? ie, she is walking towards the 'big bad', not away from it...It makes no sense.... And are we honestly expected to believe she could actually put a gun, ahem, up there and still be able to walk normally.....? Jesus, it's a rather large METAL object.....Not to mention the fact that if she actually managed to steal the gun from the Sherriff, why the hell didn't she BLOODY SHOOT HIM????  This film treats us like idiots.....

Its a film though, its not real life And the reason I prefer the remake its that i found the original more funny than scary because the chainsaw dude was so retarded I dont need to say valid reasons as to why i like a film as well. I cant explain why I preffered the remake, I just did, I found it more tense and creepy, please accept that.

October 1, 200618 yr the remake is too slick it looks like a fashion shoot, the original is much better and so much scarier so much tension in the original

Well my boss is Polish and I doubt she would understand what vernacular means, I mean what does it mean  Why do you use it when Im sure theres an easier simpler term for people to understand! So youre posts must be hard to understand when i dont even understand 1 of the words, and please dont say 'well thats because you are stupid' as I find that a ridiculous comeback and offensive as I doubt many people will know what vernacular means. The point Im making, is that if people enjoy these films, LET IT BE! Dont go p***ing on their bonfire and comparing it to some modern art stuff which is highly intellectual because its not relevant

The point Im making, is that if people enjoy these films, LET IT BE! Dont go p***ing on their bonfire and comparing it to some modern art stuff which is highly intellectual because its not relevant Well, if she's your boss, I bet she will, as I said, most foreigners who have learned English for at least 10 years have got extremely good vocabularies.... And I am not going to tell you what it means, go look at a dictionary or a thesaurus, get up off your backside and actually learn your own language instead of merely being content to be thick, prove me wrong, I really want to be wrong about the younger generation because if my assumptions are wrong then it might actually fill me with some hope for the future.... And just how am I comparing it to 'modern art stuff' you pillock?? I am comparing it to OTHER Horror films, you think just because they're Japanese or Korean that it's not basically the same thing, the same genre??? Of course it is, films such as "Ringu" or "Ju On" are basically examples of Japanese commercial cinema, they are NOT 'Art-House' films, they are populist entertainment in Japan. Like I say, different cultures have different types of popular cinema.... But then, you'd actually know that if you'd studied Cinema, like I have....

I cant explain why I preffered the remake, I just did, I found it more tense and creepy, please accept that. You're confusing the fact that it's 'not real life' with it actually having no bloody logic at all, which is my argument... I can accept a lot of things in a film - Martian invasions, the dead returning to life, vampires, werewolves... But there must be a sense of causal logic (no matter how outlandish the premise) in order for the the film-makers to suspend the audience disbelief, the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre has very little in the sense of causal logic, because its script is dreadful beyond belief.... And the reason it's dreadful beyond belief..? Because they know they can get away with it because modern audiences are incredibly undemanding.... If you are content to have your intelligence insulted to this level, well, far be it from me to stand in your way.....

October 2, 200618 yr Do I care that youve studied Cinema? What do you want, a medal? No, just a bit of credit for actually knowing what the fukk I'm talking about. I was picked to Mod this Forum precisely because of my knowlege of Cinema, as was Tigerboy... And judging by your rather pathetically weak reply to my post, I rest my case.... If you are incapable of actually contributing an intelligent, well constructed argument or case, then I'd rather you didnt post in this forum to be honest. I want the sort of debate on cinema in this forum that exists in Internet Movie Database, and no, I dont think that's asking for too much... Sorry, no offence..... check out www.imdb.com, it may give you some tips in how to actually engage on a more intellectual level.... And here is an example of exactly the sort of well thought out, well argued and lucid analysis that I'm talking about from Consie, one of our most intelligent posters... http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18149
