Posted July 4, 201510 yr http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Artists%20Photo%2015.png Might as well jump on board with this! My top 50 songs of 2015 so far in a countdown :D It's not technically a half-way point for me as I do my end of year chart in late November but oh well :heehee: This encompasses my favourite songs from the very end of November 2014 until now. The following #1 singles missed out on my top 50: Delta Goodrem - Only Human Mitchel Musso - The In Crowd Top 10 albums coming first :D
July 4, 201510 yr Author EP http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx240/MarthaJonesFan/Cover%20Sleeves/LucieSilvas-LucieSilvas.png 1 Lucie Silvas - Lucie Silvas - 1-1-1-1-2-4-6-7-7-8-9-10-11-12-X Just before we start the albums, a quick shoutout to my favourite EP of the year so far, unsurprisingly from Lucie Silvas. This is the first new material she's released since 2007 so it's fair to say I've been waiting a while for it  It didn't disappoint at all, the songs are great, although I'm not sure it benefited from me knowing four of the five tracks before its release, either in studio or demo form. Still a solid listen though and I am anticipating the full length album, now expected in September :o What year Lucie means is another matter....

Kacey Musgraves' sophomore [major label] album really hit me on my second listen. I think that whilst nothing beats Follow Your Arrow from her first album, it's still a solid effort with many highlights. Shawn Mendes' album is also another great one, peaking at #2 in my chart and following the top 5 singles chart hit Something Big. Fifth Harmony's debut album was long awaited for me and whilst the three singles are the CLEAR highlights, it's still a solid record. Union J's second album absolutely tanked in the chart but is a much stronger effort than their self-titled debut album I think, with many great tracks other than just the singles. Finally in this section, Ciara's most recent album really surprised me, so many highlights and incredibly consistent. I'd only heard her self-titled album before this and that was good but this easily tops it for me!

Breathe Out. - 1-1-2-1-… This top 5 is basically inseperable for me right now, I'm really enjoying all of these albums a lot this year! Hilary Duff's album surprised me actually, it's the first record of hers I've heard in full and it's rising up my ranking really quickly. Charli XCX's album was more of a grower, it didn't hit me on first listen at ALL and seeing her live actually made it completely click, and I love it now! I'd been anticipating James Bay's album ever since last February when I saw him supporting Tom Odell on tour, and it hasn't disappointed, really solid and not too ballad heavy either! Meghan Trainor's album was another surprise, I liked both pre-album singles a lot but didn't expect an album this good, and it convinced me to see her live too, where she put on a great show. Ulrik Munther unsurprisingly steals the top spot for now though, as his first Swedish album (and third overall) has spent 8 weeks in my album chart top 2 already (not quite the 9 straight weeks at #1 his previous album had but still good!). It's the first album I've heard that's entirely in another language, without a single track in English, and it really impressed me. Although, Ulrik could sing the phonebook and I'd love it tbf. Singles countdown next ~

I discovered Olivia through a thread on here actually but would've discovered her just days later supporting Meghan Trainor regardless! Was great to hear a BJSC entry of mine live, has only happened twice before I think (with Cody Simpson and Lewis Watson). S Club 7's reunion brought along a re-issued greatest hits album, including new track Rain, which actually isn't brand new and featured on their TV show back in 2002, and never got released. Fans had been crying out for it and I was very excited, although the hype kinda wore off for this track once I'd seen them live! Still so glad to have it though. Demi Lovato's new track makes it in at #46 already, a great start for a new song! It would no doubt be higher if I did this countdown in a few weeks' time. Two appearances in this section from Cody Simpson, and no songs left in this countdown now by him, meaning this is looking like the first year that he's missed the top 20 of my EOY chart since I started doing them in 2012! This may be down to a huge change in sound, which I don't like quite as much but is still good.

Royalty and Talking About both topped my chart and had relatively short chart runs for a #1 singles, but nonetheless made the top spot, unlike his previous tracks. He does, however, have a 100% top 10 streak for his singles. Selena Gomez's new single with A$AP Rocky also appears in this section, it's still quite recent so is quite low for now but it's still sounding so good to me. It's Selena's highest charting song, ahead of Come & Get It and I Want You To Know, which both made #3. The only track to have missed my top 10 is Fifth Harmony's Worth It. The track so far has a peak of #13 although it's climbing on my chart still so top 10 is definitely not out of reach! BO$$ is still to come in this countdown. (is anyone reading?)
July 14, 201510 yr Heyyyy Joseph x First commenter coming through *.* Wow at Demi cracking your top 50 after a singular week, and Selena after just two! Mind you I am very impressed with both of them! A shame the 'Good For You' video package as a whole was so underwhelming but at least we did get the sublime single version. Quite a bit I haven't heard but some good stuff thus far ~ namely the aforementioned and James Bay, Fifth Harmony, Tinashe, Rita and of course S Club 7! Poor Sarah :kink: Keep it up <3

The Good For You video was a bit underwhelming but oh well! Glad you're loving a fair few songs *.* Jo O'Meara snatching 2015 relevancy, when will faves?
July 15, 201510 yr Yay for Lucie Silvas top of the EP chart, such an amazing EP  How To Lose It All remains my favourite, still such a tune that I go back to regularly, I am really anticipating the upcoming album  I quite like jackie and the Shawn Mendes album. Title and Sucker are easily 2 of my favourites for the year (actually thinking about it their my top 2 and my 2nd and 3rd most listened to album of 2015 after 1989 :o ). Both of them have so many gems. I'd say all about that bass and break the rules remain the highlight for me but both have so many gems *.* Title is such a fun catchy pop record with gems like bang dem sticks and the infectious title and softer moments like the beautiful like I'm going to lose you (ft chart murderer :P ). Sucker is just an absolutely amazing record and easily one of my favourites of the decade so far, need ur Luv is so original and amazing, red balloon is a jam and London queen/breaking up are pop anthems  Neither albums get old and I can't wait to see what else they can offer  Now onto the singles :) I absolutley adore Poison and it is probably one of my favourite Rita singles, I love the lyrics and the video is great while the song is really nice. All hands on deck is also pretty good even though I still don't get all the mass hype on here for Tinashe. Cool for the summer is such a summer anthem and again one of Demi's best already, that breakdown is just stunning *.* I bet is also good and worth it has now solidified its status as a great jam for me after originally hating it. Good for you is so amazing and the vocals are just fantastic, I wish it went top 40 here :( And of course the highlight of the top 50 so far Blank Space   (which is still slaying my top 10 for EOY 2015!) It is just such an amazing pop tune with great lyrics and an amazing video and all together it is the perfect package. One of the highlights from 1989 and its still sounding utterly amazing in 2015  Loving the countdown so far and can't wait for the rest  (hopefully with more Taylor :) )

Glad you're loving the countdown too :D Lucie's EP really is fantastic, have you heard her previous two albums? If not, I would highly recommend them, they are both phenomenal, Breathe In in particular is my second favourite album of all time  This year has been pretty good for albums so far although I think last year has been better! I'm glad you're enjoying my selection though, SUCKER and Title were both brilliant to hear live too when seeing Charli and Meghan. No-one really does anything like Meghan right now so she has that advantage I think! Title, Bang Dem Sticks and Credit are my non-single favourites! My picks for SUCKER would be Need Ur Luv and Caught in the Middle  Poison has been a grower for me actually, I didn't chart it the week it premiered but it eventually hit me enough for it to be top 10! Has had a decent chart run too, not her best track imo but solid still. I don't get the mass Tinashe hype either I'll be honest, her album was nice but not exceptional, but this track is EASILY her best, such a solid tune! Iggy's part is great as expected from her too :D Cool for the Summer is a solid comeback for Demi also, I hope it's a hit here! I Bet is a stunning track, one of my favourite Ciara tracks, and of course she's had many fab tracks over the years! Good For You should easily have been a big hit but sadly not, especially as it seems Radio 1 aren't on board  Blank Space's video is easily one of the best of recent times I think, the song is brilliant too although Shake It Off is my fave this era

My second favourite 5 Seconds of Summer track is at #30, with Good Girls managing a very lengthy chart run and a #3 peak with its release at the end of 2014. Sadly, its UK success didn't match that at all, although it just about managed a top 20 place thanks to its release as an instant grat earlier in 2014. Tove Lo got her first top 10 in my chart with Talking Body, easily her best track so far for me, and Little Mix also got a career high with Black Magic being their first top 5 (despite five previous top 10 hits). The Sewells are dominating my chart so far this year, with three Conrad tracks still to come, all of which were top 2 hits in my chart. Conrad's sister Grace hasn't had quite the same success but nonetheless has done very well with her debut single You Don't Own Me, a track which I only gave a measly 4 points (!!!!!!) to in BJSC, rather than the 18 it deserved. Sorry Liam!! Dan will be happy to hear that there are still three dance tracks to come (well, two he'll like, poor Guetta :kink:), now that Oliver Heldens' second single has dropped out. Last All Night (Koala) was a top 5 hit officially and whilst it didn't quite make my weekly top 5, it was still a substantial hit and one of the biggest dance hits my chart has seen. From a Dan fave to a Dan least fave, Andrew "Weekly Sermon" Hozier-Byrne's second hit Someone New makes it to #23 here, just ahead of Ellie Goulding's Fifty Shades of Grey hit Love Me Like You Do, and Finnish pop singer Isac Elliot's One Direction reject track (it literally is a 1D reject :kink:). Finally, we have two solid pop tracks to round the section out, with comeback singles from Carly Rae Jepsen and Alesha Dixon. Carly's hit Call Me Maybe was a #1 in my chart and each single she's released since has been a top 10 hit. Alesha's not appeared in my chart in the past due to my chart only beginning in late 2011 (poor Do It Our Way (Play) never charted, blame the fact it was a top 10 back then!!), but The Way We Are got a top 3 position on two occasions. She would undoubtedly have had at least two #1s before from The Boy Does Nothing and To Love Again, and numerous other hits both solo and as part of Mis-Teeq.
July 17, 201510 yr Oliver Heldens slaying the Bellamian chart *___ could potentially outpeak my EOY position for it too, I charted 'Koala' at #34 for 2014! At least it isn't the weekly sermon itself that's charting for you (although that'll probably appear higher oop)

At least it isn't the weekly sermon itself that's charting for you (although that'll probably appear higher oop) Thanks Dan! :D I really do love Last All Night (Koala), it stands out in a chart that has some quite samey dance tracks for me at times (although being samey doesn't always mean they're bad of course), and I love KStewart's vocals too! I wish it were a bigger hit  The weekly sermon may or may not be in the next section :kink:

Years & Years also make the top 20 with their UK #1 smash hit King. Shine only recently went to #1 in my chart but that was after the cut-off point for this countdown and therefore doesn't feature, but it will no doubt be high up my final EOY chart later this year. Numerous #1s from my own chart are in this section, including Fifth Harmony's first EVER #1 :jameela: BO$$ went straight in at #1 following their X Factor performance of the track and although its longevity was not particularly brilliant, I still very much enjoy the track and it's looking to do well in my final EOY chart. Hunter Hayes achieved a fifth #1 hit with promo single 21 after I saw him live, it's a brilliant feelgood track and exactly what he does best. Tori Kelly also got a #1, with her debut single Nobody Love, after getting a #6 hit with Professor Green on Lullaby. Nobody Love sadly didn't take off as much as I'd hoped but it's a solid track and definitely the best on her album. After a huge #1 smash with single Ugly Heart last year, I was very much anticipating Lighthouse especially with the news that it was dedicated to Simone Battle, and G.R.L. certainly didn't disappoint with the track, it's a gorgeous tribute with touching lyrics. I got a bit bored of the track most likely due to my own overplay of it but I enjoy it now when I listen and it deserved those three weeks at #1. Two #2 hits in this section, one from my BJSC entry Moment Like You by Lia Marie Johnson, which has given me my best result of the year so far, a #10 placing. It's the third highest of my six BJSC entries so far this year, with two featuring in the top 10. Hozier's also back in this section with his "weekly sermon". I overlooked Take Me To Church massively in BJSC when Rich entered it but it grew on me after hearing it in the chart for a little while, I still enjoy the track now despite the overplay and I love the lyrics of the track, about as far from a sermon as you can get. David Guetta's biggest hit to date in my chart by a MILE is Hey Mama. It's also the biggest hit for Afrojack and Bebe Rexha, although Nicki Minaj has had a #1 with Jessie J and Ariana Grande through Bang Bang last year. The track is easily my favourite Guetta track now, a lot of fun and I'm glad it's done well officially too. Finally, Adam and Ryan will be pleased to see that EUROVISION!!!1! features in my top 20, even if it's in the form of Eduard Romanyuta. Eduard represented Moldova this year (despite being Ukrainian) but DNQd in 11th place in the first semi final, such a shame as it's my favourite Eurovision entry of the year by quite a way. The track is my second Eurovision #1, following Loreen's Euphoria in 2012.
July 20, 20159 yr Hey Joseph  Loving most of these songs but there's a few I don't like so let's get them out of the way first :P I absolutely hate king now, it got so overplayed for me and it is literally unlistenable. Shame as I used to find it ok :( Good girls is 5SOS worst single (apart from maybe their new one) and I quite like koala but I find it quite generic. And both the Hozier singles are terrible, especially take me to church which is so boring for me. Also ew at the Moldova entry, easily one of the weakest Eurovision entries this year and I'm glad it just missed out. Now onto the good stuff  Lighthouse is easily one of my favourite tracks of the year so far, such a beautiful masterpiece. It is such a moving and beautiful tribute to Simone and an incredible track  Possibly even my favourite girlband track of the last 5 years bar black heart, move and maybe slip :o Hey Mama is still quite good despite the overplay and Boss is easily my favourite FH track, such a sassy anthem *.* I didn't used to like nobody love but it has grown on me so much now and I wish it became a hit and dear future husband was amazing from when I first heard it when it was meant to be a pre album single, such an infectious tune *.* I also quite like the hunter Hayes track. The Way We Are is another good effort from Alesha even if it doesn't compare to the 100/10 moments of the boy does nothing and to love again (by far her best 2 ) and talking body is such an amazing track from an amazing debut album. I'm glad it has had a good chart run as it is so good, I way prefer it to Habits which I find slightly overrated. I also love queen of the clouds, have you heard moments? That is the album highlight for me, such a beautiful track with amazing lyrics and I find it so enchanting. Now onto the 2 pop gem anthems, I Really Like You and Black Magic. It is great to see another massive girlband hit and black magic is so infectious with an amazing video, especially Jade slaying in it and the song is pure pop at its best *.* I Really Like You and Love Me Like You Do are both in my top 5 for the year. I adore the video for IRLY and even though its not as good as call me maybe, it is another infectious masterpiece from Carly who's on fire at the moment  I am also adoring Run Away With Me which has one of the best instrumentals this year in my opinion *.* Love Me Like You Do is haunting and utterly beautiful the way the song builds up to that 2nd chorus is magnificent and from then on it is so powerful and amazing. I am so excited for Ellie's new album  Amazing sections Joseph and looking forward to seeing what the top 10 has in store  (including the amazing trouble )
July 20, 20159 yr Author Thanks so much for another fantastic comment there Sam, I appreciate it so much  I will be returning it on yours soon!! Shame you're not liking a load of those tracks but it's amazing to see that the vast majority are good in your opinion!! Lighthouse really is a gorgeous tribute and I hope Simone would be proud oif it. Such a shame they split up :( My fave girl group track of the last 5 years would definitely be Something New :kink: but GA/The Sats aside cause they're obvious choices, Ugly Heart definitely wins with Black Heart second! The Way We Are is a brilliant comeback from Alesha, soooo good, and we share the same Alesha top 2  The Boy Does Nothing is one of my all-time favourites, an incredible track and so much fun. To Love Again is gorgeous and her vocals are SO good on it! I have indeed heard Moments, and the entire album actually! Moments is a highlight and I can see it being a future single actually. Timebomb is a good choice for the follow-up to Talking Body I think. TB is my favourite of hers, Habits is good though and I prefer the original to Stay High I think. IRLY is indeed brilliant, not quite as good as the AMAZING Call Me Maybe but still amazing, as is Run Away With Me, which needs to be big!! The top 10 will begin tomorrow, it does indeed contain Trouble of course *.* Hopefully you'll like a few more of the tracks too!
