July 23, 20159 yr I propose a new rule where the confirmation date and time should be announced at least 24-48 hours before it opening. That way it means everyone (or at least the majority of entrants) are on a level playing field as they will KNOW what time it opens and prepare, rather than opening it at a random time and people who aren't online/at work/busy being at a disadvantage.
July 23, 20159 yr Author I think you're taking a bit too seriously. If anything dropping the confirmations at any time makes it a lot more exciting and gives anybody a chance to confirm. If you're worried about somebody stealing your song don't be a cheap hoe.
July 23, 20159 yr Then we have people (always the SAME people) sitting with the refresh button at that time ready to overwhelm the host's inbox. I'm of the opinion it's up to the host, whether they want to try and fake out the fast confirmers or not. If I were hosting I'd make sure everyone knew so I could deal with like 40 messages at once but Lee's just more of a troll.
July 23, 20159 yr I've been switching between 2 or 3 songs over the last few days but I've finally got myself a stunner of a song, can't wait to send it now! :D

If you're worried about somebody stealing your song don't be a cheap hoe. I'm just thinking of what is more fair for the majority of people rather than, say, dropping it at 11:36am and seeing who gets in first through just happening to be online at that time.
July 23, 20159 yr We don't really need MORE rules, it's just an online song contest  Granted I just said I'll be annoyed if somebody got my song but like it wouldn't be the end of the world?! I'd just get over it and send something else, it'd be an annoyance I'd rather not have but recently more and more people take this way too seriously (hypocritical I know given I just jokes "I would cry"), I swear this never used to happen! That's not what BJSC is about. I'd argue whichever way you do it is unfair in some way. Not everyone makes BJSC their life and will sit and refresh at 6:58pm because confirmations open at 7:00pm, but equally not everyone is around for most of the day to check confirmations opening. This is going to involve luck of being on at the right time which I guess is more exciting but I just wish it happened in a month where I didn't sooooo badly want to send a song that I might lose </3

July 23, 20159 yr You still have a whole week to send your entry once confirmations have started though.
July 23, 20159 yr I wouldn't drop it at 11.36am, I'm more of a 10.36am type of person. Don't even think I'd be up at that time if I didn't have work! I don't want to be coming across as desperate or anything (I'm not, I don't mind what time confirmations open as I'm very rarely ever cheap! Possibly only three times I've had a clash). Just could foresee people complaining about a random drop and thought of a suggestion for countering that. And I most definitely don't refresh like that, I often wonder how, once I've confirmed at say 2 minutes past the hour, there are already like 20 people who have managed to confirm AND say they've confirmed in the thread!! Edited July 23, 20159 yr by Gage
July 23, 20159 yr I have no intention to regulate when confirmations open. It's up to the host to do it when it fits their schedule best

I can confirm this is a true story.
