I know I know this can be a touchy subject.

 

I'm sure there are a lot of cross-overs between us and perhaps some surprises. When I say 'cry' I mean tears. Here are the films and scenes that have really touched me to make me shed a tear!

 

 

Beautiful scene from a great movie. Every time I watch this scene it moves me, especially towards the end.

 

 

My favourite franchise, and just an amazingly well written scene. I have watched this countless times on YouTube and it still moves me. The best tribute possible to Paul.

 

 

Heartbreaking. Such good acting from the two leads that makes this scene believable.

 

 

Enough said - I think this touched everyone that grew up with Toy Story!

I'm not really the crying type on movies but some scenes of the Fault in our Stars made me almost cry :(

I mean I KNEW that they weren't gonna die and all, but still that sad acceptance and the whole emotional feel of just that few seconds was so powerful. Probably the most emotional scene Toy Story have done and that says a lot.

 

Non-Disney wise, this scene from Children of Men is so so beautiful, and a brief display of hope in a rather bleak film:

 

Yeah The Lion King and the Toy Story Trilogy make me weep uncontrollably even to this day. Another heart-breaking TS scene to go along with those already mentioned for me is this one:

Also not so much a scene, but 'Grave of the Fireflies' is a real tear-jerker too. I had tears in my eyes throughout the second half of it, so watch it with a heavy heart!

Definitely agree with the lion king and the fault in our stars mentions above.

There is another film recently that made me cry so much but I have forgotten what it was :lol:

I don't often weep during films, I sometimes get a tear but there have been some exceptions;

 

This just breaks my heart everytime I watch it, Amy's character was so bubbly and upbeat for the whole movie and so to see her break down was just so sad :( especially when

she says "it's not my fault"

 

This is a pretty sad movie but this scene takes the prize for the saddest. I realise I am biased but Jeremy Renner is such a brilliant actor.

 

 

One scene that I can't find on the web is the ending of The Odd Life Or Timothy Green where he

has to disappear

it was played out so beautifully.

Oh God, this thread. I cry all too often at TV and movies, mostly TV because you build more of a connection, but the main movie one is Gladiator at the end of the big final fight in the arena with Now We Are Free playing.

The part in Cool Runnings where they crash and carry the bobsleigh over the line.

The part in Babe where the sheep help and he herds them perfectly.

 

Yep, I cry at bizarre things.

The scene when Marley is put to sleep in Marley + Me.

I cried a lot at the end of The Theory of Everything. And I didn't even like the film that much. The power of emotional manipulation I guess?

 

I also blubbered during a scene which I will not spoil from Inside Out.

I don't think I've ever cried at anything on film. A lot that has been touching, put a lump in my throat or put a tear in my eye, but certainly not cry. Eastenders has been the closest to doing that! :P

 

Yeah, that's pretty sad. I like the part in Toy Story 3 where they all hold hands before they think they die, but more because it was powerful rather than emotional.

Oh my gosh this I remember crying for like half an hour after seeing it in the cinema when I was like 8 I think. That was such a sad moment :cry:

I just remembered when I was young watching Cats vs Dogs (?) the scene at the end where the pup came out of the building seemed like he wasn't going to make it :snif:

I got sad at the end of Black Swan where

she stabs herself by accident and presumably dies

I found it quite a tragic end :(

Well where do I begin.

 

- Hachi. Basically throughout the movie, but especially when the man dies and Hachi is taken by the daughter, who later sets him free so he can wait for him (He escaped earlier already to wait for the boss). Also when the boss' wife finds Hachi still waiting after a number of years and they wait for the next train together. And last when Hachi dies and his life and happy memories flash by. This must be the most I've cried during a movie ever

- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. When Dumbledore died and Harry finds him at the bottom of the astronomy tower and everyone lifts their wands.

- The Lion King

- Up. The opening scene

- The Fox And The Hound. When Fox is left behind in the forest :cry:

 

I could go on but y'know let me try and keep just a little bit of my manliness

Of course the opening scene of up, that completely passed my mind. Cried through that as well and that was definitely my favourite part of the movie :wub:

 

Another one for me is Titanic, still cry on my multiple watches since but when I saw it for the first time, I cried so so much especially when Jack died :(

From my favourite movie... absolutely spellbinding scene and the way it completely manipulates you is the best example of what cinema can do.

 

The ending of The Truman Show... tears of joy.

 

I cry quite easily but these are probably the guaranteed three.
