Meghan Trainor got a number one for 2 weeks last year with her debut "All about the bass" but it's a first number one for John Legend with his contribution on Sam Smith's "Lay me down" peaking at 2 earlier this year and "All of me" reaching 3 in 2013 but amassing a total of 30 weeks in my Top 20. The highest climber for a 2nd week in a row is "Catch and release" by Matt Simmons rising from 14 to 9. Just one new entry this week but it's a virtually undiscovered gem from Suriname as "Parfum" despite it's French title is sung mainly in a local language but has a familiar old school reggae feel ... Jamaican Etana's reggae song "Richest girl" got to number one earlier this year and the rather more familiar Omi completed a 29 week non consecutive run this year with "Cheerleader" after having first entered my chart in 2013 peaking at 3 so reggae is a favourite of mine. Another favourite genre of mine is reggaeton and with "El Perdon" now enjoying pan European success Nicky Jam re-enters at 20 having topped my chart for 4 weeks in March and April earlier this year.
