Hello and welcome to 2015's Ultimate Pop Female contest where the forum's gays and other weirdos join together to rank the greatest musical women known to us, because we long ago acknowledged the inability for men and groups to compete with them. Now I know what you're thinking:

Umi, we already did this last year - why again?

 

To which the obvious answer is that we need to let the crazy young people of this forum catapult the latest flavour of the month into the top 5 because who cares about Madonna really, right?

 

The format is simple because ... it's exactly the same as it was last year. This is the nominations part, if you couldn't tell from the title. Make a post in this thread in which you nominate up to 30 female artists that you like (this can include females who front bands, such as Florence & The Machine or "that girl from Paramore") and when the nominations are closed, the top 100 (or so) artists will go through to the final voting stage, after which we will have final results. You do not need to put your nominations in any order, all nominations are equal, and any number between 1-30 is totally acceptable. However, there are some artists you can't nominate. That is because they were in the top 10 the last time we hosted this event and therefore auto-qualify. These artists are:

 

1. Britney Spears (our reigning queen and saviour)

2. Rihanna

3. Katy Perry

4. Madonna

5. Lady Gaga

6. Kylie Minogue

7. Ellie Goulding

8. Beyoncé

9. Kelly Clarkson

10. Adele

 

A nomination for anyone listed above is a wasted one, they will feature in the final voting stage regardless. You can nominate any other female artist and it doesn't matter if they've released one single or thirty singles. Also do not worry if an artist you want to nominate isn't necessarily a Pop artist, you can nominate artists from any genre.

 

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to post them below! Voting ends at 11:59pm (UK time) on August 9th, at which point I will hand you over to the much more fabulous and personable Ryan, so get thinking and happy nominating!

If a band member's role is indistinguishable from that of every other band member (i.e. they're not a clear lead singer/front of the band like Hayley Williams or Florence Welch) then they're not eligible. You are essentially just nominating the band if you nom say, the two members of Say Lou Lou or the four members of Little Mix.
