Bowie's released some superb albums in the past 25 years.. Heathen, Outside and Let's Dance

it was let's dance i was thinking as the last thing he was probably most well known for/people really really liked

David Bowie is my all-time favourite artist.

Hunky Dory is my all-time favourite album & Life On Mars is my all-time favourite song.

As an artist his last truly brilliant album was Scary Monsters back in 1980. (I'm not too keen on Let's Dance from 1983 as it is too commercial - Phil Collins-lite) Since then he has released a few good albums Tin Machine, Buddha of Suburbia OST & Heathen are very good albums, as well as a few classic singles - Blue Jean, This Is Not America, Absolute Beginners, Underground, Jump They Say, I'm Afraid Of Americans, Thursday's Child & Everyone Say Hi.

Since his near fatal heart-attack he has been very quiet on the music front (he is now going through his longest period without realising a new studio album), with just the odd cameo here & there.

That is why his turn on Extras was the most inspiring thing I have seen on TV this year.

(Check but finds video has yet to be uploaded onto YouTube :( )

I'd read he'd had a heart attack, but didn't realise it was as serious as you say?

I forgot to mention the sublime Buddha of Suburbia soundtrack.... stunning piece of work.

I think I'm the only person who loved some of Never Let Me Down... especially Glass Spider and Time Will Crawl (saw him on this tour as well... the mullet and the chair descending from the roof hehe).... also, I got to work at a Bowie gig in Milton Keynes in 1990 for the Sound and Vision tour. Only selling tshirts, but the pay was excellent, the job was dead easy... and you got to see all the soundchecks and the bands. Didn't meet him, though, but he did send a message thanking everyone before the show started - a proper gent.

I really liked the Hallo Spaceboy single, too... fun camp.

His worst album IMO, bar Tin Machine which I hated, is Tonight. His most beautiful artwork houses his most abhorrent work.

I'd love some Bowie work with Massive Attack.... they'd make beautiful music and this collaboration is long overdue...

I saw Bowie at Milton Keynes on his Glass Spider tour & at Birmingham NEC on his Sound & Vision Tour and saw Tin Machine in Bristol (I think it was at the Colston Halls). I quite liked the Never Let Me Down album, it is not a bad album with the exception of Shining Star, just that it is over-produced and lacks any killer Bowie songs. However Tonight is along with Tin Machine II his career low and are very grim albums to listen to.

I also enjoyed his collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys, I just feel that Hallo Spaceboy was not the strongest of material to work with. I agree Bowie working with Massive Attack would definitely work, although I think he is more likely to work with the likes of Canadian ensemble Arcade Fire, whom he is a big fan of.

I thought his Extras performance was pretty awesome.
