X Factor 2014 runner-up Fleur East has today been filming what I presume is the music video for the first single from her upcoming debut album! Very excited to see what she comes up with, and with the video already being filmed we should get to hear the song soon I guess!

Can't wait to hear it. For some reason I feel like it is going to be a hybrid of 'Wings' and 'Uptown Funk'.
I can't wait for her material, I hope its funky and upbeat, its been a long time coming.

It’s about time! The X Factor “UpTown Funk!” diva, the one and only Fleur East is ready to imapct the music world with her highly awaited debut single called “Sax🎷.

The song is confirmed as the first taste of Fleur’s upcoming debut album due out later this year via Syco and Sony Music Entertainment.

“Sax” is expected to be released on digital retailers on October 23rd. She’s coming… the countdown has begun!

I am READY *.*

As much as I enjoy the saxophone, naming your song 'Sax' doesn't fill me with hope. Still excited to see what she's come up with though!

Release Date: 23 October

Source: Official Charts, it won't let me link it.

Details on Fleur's debut album are scarce at the moment - except for its lead single Sax out on October 23 - but her recent chatter about the record is enough to get us excited.

“I just want people to react to it as though it’s a breath of fresh air,” Fleur told Fault Magazine of her new music, “It’s sort of old school meets new school. It’s got a lot of old school influences, old school funk, old school hip hop, sounds that people miss. Influences like Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, proper good music that we all love.

“It’s all very positive, very uplifting. I think that music can sometimes be taken too seriously. I enjoy what I do and I want people to feel that. I’ve put a lot of time and a lot of love into it and I hope that people really get behind me and enjoy the music as much as I do." Consider us on board!

Going up for pre-order on iTunes tonight at midnight. We're getting the cover shortly, too.

Very fun and eye-catching and suits the type of music I'm expecting Fleur to produce!

Taking inspiration for the cover from the best I see.

some 'okay' jumping and laughing picture slapped onto a basic ass colour background which took probably less than 4 minutes to make was never really original to begin with hun

From That Grape Juice:

Sax:

As X Factor “moments” go, few can rival Fleur’s breakout performance of ‘Uptown Funk.’ Smartly, then, she has cooked up her own take on the sound with the deliciously addictive ’Sax.’

Big, booming, and busy, the Electric cut (which was co-written by East) features funkified production and ample swagger to match. Heavy on the metaphors, the track showcases a flirty Fleur throwing down the gauntlet to a potential bae. She belts “if you wanna hear me sing, you better play that Sax.” A seismic saxophone rift follows; one that sounds much fuller and more robust than those featured on some of this Summer’s big hits. A subtle, but positively impactful point of difference.

The pre-chorus sees the singer chant “baby, baby I’ve been waiting for someone to blow my mind”…and blow our minds she does.

A certified smash!

That artwork looks like it's for a song by a children's TV host.
