Apologies to Lee if I sounded a bit grumpy with you last night... a third win is really impressive. :D

I think I was grumpy because it felt like a Plug DJ 'in joke' had won and, to someone very much on the outside of that side of Buzzjack these days and certainly not part of the whole Plug DJ thing, I guess it felt a bit disappointing to me personally that it had started to invade BJSC as well and it's only the second time ever where I feel like the song didn't win on the merits of lots of people really liking the song (the first being RuPaul) but instead it being more about Buzzjack culture. In retrospect, I may have been reading too much into it after a few too many Krakens.

Again, from an 'outsider' point of view... it feels a bit weird that there are strict veto rules for something that's appeared on sites such as Popjustice and Pitchfork yet tracks that appear to build up support via a medium that actually contains half of the participants of the contest can sail through - although I accept it would be almost impossible to introduce such a thing.

Argh... I sound all shady again but it's really not directed to you personally Lee - I actually admire anyone who makes the most of and gets the best out of things.

(Plus I was a bit gutted as Fuel To The Fire would have been the best winner in AGES for me!)

tbh this is how I feel a bit and, I agree it's how I felt about RuPaul too. I'm very pleased Lee has another win but I'm uncertain how many people were voting on the quality of the song itself. I know people are going to reply saying there were people who don't go on plug who still voted for it but that doesn't mean it still would have won had everyone been listening to it on first listen and without the 'iconic' image of it.

Could have been a different outcome if those 8 countries voted :drama:

Probably would have, looking at who didn't vote.

I actualy loved the song so can we please stop the "plugdj injoke" crying? It reminded me of Boss Ass Bitch so much

Yet last week you were saying how incredible it was on Plug when somebody played it.

So pressed.

We can't stop (Winning) and we won't stop (winning) can you see it's beaverfina who own the night!

There's no need for you to apologise buddy, I see exactly what you mean because I felt the same when "Sissy That Walk" won and I've taking nothing personally buddy.

You're not being shady in the slightest, I understand I enjoy your comments and it's always frustrating if your favourite song just losses out, thanks for the points to help me win tho xxxx

I believe Joedonia would have won judging by who was to vote.

popchartfreak going top 5 under the 12-point system I predict - but I like the 18-point system fine. In fact I want to extend it to 25 I never have enough points to hand out!

Oop! #SnatchT!!!

Yasss Leee, threee successive Aquafina victories!!!

Caught up with the thread earlier, many thanks once again for all the votes for Ramrynia and getting us yet another top 10 finish!

Congratulations again Lee although it is by far my least favourite of your three winners, but 'Easy Love' and 'Safe With You' were both fantastic so they'd be pretty hard to beat anyway. In my heart I do agree with Froot and Dandy and I do wonder whether Important would've won attached to another country name (as there's no denying Important and Lee are a perfect fit (your words not mine :kink:) and have an "iconic" status for that reason) but that's just my opinion. A win is a win and it's a historic one too to manage 3 in a row so I can't take that away from you!

Results under the 12 point system (square brackets = actual position, curly brackets = how much higher or lower the songs are under the 12 point system, all ties are broken):

41 [41] {±00} 037 ETHA // David Vrong - Reflection

42 [40] {-02} 034 NLAZ // Zak Abel - Say Sumthin

Still extremely close between the top 2 indeed but Aquafina still just about winning. Both of the top 2 are much further ahead than they are under the 18 point system, and Singerpurear are predictably much better off here, actually inside the top 3. Qärenfanghoney benefit the most from the 18 point system (7 places higher) while Harmonica and Thelonia lose the most from it (5 places lower each). Overall not many massive differences. Though N-Lazone do finish last in this case :P

I like to think this is the equivalent of the sales chart and the 18 pointer is the streaming data chart

3rd is a fab result for kishi bashi thrilled with that :yahoo:

don't think i'll be entering next month at this rate after some of the things that have happened behind the scenes that has put me RIGHT off
