You should all watch Precious for sure, it's heart-breaking and honestly Monique is so good.

Yeah, it was the first time I'd seen it Jonjo! I loved it, yeah you do really feel for the aliens and I loved how unique it was in terms of the documentary style. It was also really funny and I loved all the South African accents too, a really good film. I really liked Chappie too though :o

Had a Meg Ryan sesh today

When Harry Met Sally...

Obviously a classic movie and I loved it, had a great story, but I did kinda feel Meg and Billy didn't have much chemistry at times. Carrie Fisher was my favourite part

of the movie.

Addicted To Love

LOVED this, I have a major soft spot for Matthew Broderick ad he was so good in this. I think this was Meg's best non You've Got Mail role. Such a mad, off the wall

movie but it works so well and the two leads had such brilliant chemistry.

In The Land of Women

One of my all time faves and one of the best recent films by Meg. Adam Brody is brilliant and so is Kristen Stewart who I think gets too much hate, she has lots of expression and can actually act.

Hail, Caesar

Garden State

The Good Lie

Garden State was a re-watch for about the 100th time, the other two were first watches.

Really liked all 3! Hail Caesar was great (will do bigger review later), Garden State is one of my favourite movies of all time, a beautiful masterpiece and I really wish it got more attention during awards season- especially for Natalie Portman! The Good Lie was also terrific and an incredible and interesting drama

Kung Fu Panda 3 - gorgeous visuals, engaging, good cast. Not as good as the first 2 but infinitely better than London Has Fallen.

London Has Fallen (2016)

Truth (2016)

The Choice (2016)

Notes On a Scandal (2006)

An Education (2009)

The Boxtrolls (2014)

That Awkward Moment (2014)

August: Osage County (2013)

Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

I absolutely loved August.., so well acted and felt like a mad Eastenders episode but actually good, so much scandal  For pretty much the same reason, Notes On a Scandal would be my next choice, a great storyline and never got bored once. An Edication was also great, a lovely story to get wrapped up in and Carey brought a lot of naivety to the role which I liked. DBC was good but not the most enthralling film ever, thought Jared was fantastic though. That Awkward Moment wasn't very funny really but there was some nice chemistry which made it work. I hated The Boxtrolls, don't really like anything by Laika but it was just not funny in the slightest, ugly art style and pretty boring too :(

Two weeks worth here:

Hail, Caesar (2016)

The Social Network (2010)

Black Swan (2010)

Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016)

Zootropolis (2016)

The Imitation Game (2014)

The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016)

Zootropolis was probably the best all-rounder, very touching and fun. Hail, Caeser was also a lot of fun, enjoyed it more than I was expecting. I liked the Social Network but honestly found it a bit boring in places, the snappy dialogue kept me interested and the acting was great too. Black Swan isn't my thing at all because I hate all things horror but I'm so glad I watched it, was completely on edge the whole time. Kung Fu Panda was fun, some gorgeous scenery but the majority of jokes fell a bit short. The Imitation Game was great, compelling throughout but was a bit gutted to hear about all the historical inaccuracies :( Great acting in it too, not a fan of Cumberbatch but he won me over here completely. Allegiant was really messy, was gutted because I was really looking forward to it.

Doubt (2008)

The Impossible (2012)

Cast Away (2000)

Atonement (2007)

Zero Dark Thirty (2012)

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)

Doubt was fantastic, such a good movie that had me thinking the whole way through whether Father Flynn did anything or not. I',m so glad it was a cliffhanger ending too and leaves you with that shot of even Sister Aloysious doubting herself. The Impossible is my second favourite here, so many emotional scenes and it's just so sad to watch, some fantastic acting too. Was a bit disappointed with Caast Away, thought it had some great acting and moments but there were too many dull parts in the middle imo. Atonement was also a little dull in places but the overall story was very engaging and it just got a bit boring in the second half, all three main characters were fantastic in their portrayals though, James and Keira should both have been Oscar nominated. Zero Dark Thirty was really good, I was on the edge of my seat in the final scene where they go into the house, these sorts of movies aren't really my thing so it wasn't my favourite but there so many highlights. Jesse James was unexpectedly fantastic, though it woul dbe boring due to the long run time but JJ was such a menacing character that you were excited to see what he'd do next. Brad Pitt really deserved nominations for this but I'm glad Casey Affleck got them, he was also fantastic in his portrayal at the beginning when he so clearly loved JJ and at the end where you could tell he was petrified of what could happen to him, really shcoked at how good this was!

'The Impossible' is one of my favourite films in recent times. Such a pleasant surprise. Ewan McGregor is one amazing cryer!

Doubt is a brilliant movie, the 3 main cast members all gave career bests in it. I agree about the ending too, perfect the way it was left unanswered and seeing the previously so certain Sister Aloysious beginning to have doubts.

Also really liked Casey Affleck in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, I think he might actually be a better actor than his brother.

San Andreas

Zootropolis

Zootropolis was incredible, will be posting a bigger review very soon! Also shocked how much I loved San Andreas, well acted, great plot and really enjoyable

Planning to watch loads of movies when my half term starts in a few weeks!

  • 4 weeks later...

This is basically all over the last couple of weeks:

Midnight Special

Knock, Knock

Robot Overlords

Eye In The Sky

The Spectacular Now

The Huntsman: Winter's War

Criminal

Black Swan

Will post thoughts later as shattered right now!

Entourage

The Age Of Adaline

Unfriended

3 very good films as I'm finally getting round to watching all the films I recorded on Sky Movies! Entourage was shockingly really good, found it pretty funny on the whole and was a fun hour and a half. The Age Of Adaline was fantastic, Blake Lively was incredible and the movie was really beautiful and great. And Unfriended was really interesting though I wish it was a bit more scary.

And talking about last week:

Midnight Special

Knock, Knock

Robot Overlords

Eye In The Sky

The Spectacular Now

The Huntsman: Winter's War

Criminal

Black Swan

Already commented on Midnight Special/Eye In The Sky/Huntsman/Criminal in their respective threads (I think!). Knock, Knock was really good and was a pretty interesting horror movie. Robot Overlords was utterly horrific, hated it. The Spectacular Now and Black Swan are already two of my favourite films after watching them, both were utterly incredible with fantastic performances by the leads

Letters To Juliet

A nice surprise, might do a proper Regina Review on it soon, but a beautiful movie. Great soundtrack too, double Colbie Caillat and Taylor Swift added in too *.*

Rabbit Hole is so good, really emotional and two great performances (especially Nicole), 10000000% watch that over 45 Years!

Rabbit Hole- 9.5/10

Bad Words- 8.5/10

Top Five- 9/10

The Loft- 0.5/10

45 Years 7/10

Rabbit Hole was great, really interesting and great performances, especially from Nicole Kidman  Bad Words and Top Five were both really funny and 45 Years was a nice movie with some great performances. The Loft was generic horrificness though.
