October 14, 20159 yr Absolutely. I'm slightly worried with the lack of airtime this will get before it gets released. I doubt there are any other tv slots they could appear on to help boost it? History shows that half way through the week the singles start to fade. The appearance on Graham Norton pretty much got them to number 1 so something similar midweek would be needed
October 14, 20159 yr Heavy promotion or not, I think the lll era is dead in the water if this is the kind of material they're going to release. Rumour has it the ID single is released on the same day. If so, I can't see any chance of number 1, and based on what I've heard they'll struggle to make the Top 10. Sorry to be negative. I so, so wish I'm proved wrong and my initial concerns about the single prove to be unfounded.
October 14, 20159 yr It's going to be either a hit or a flop I think - don't see there being a middle ground. However, it feels like they want to be seen as energetic and forward thinking as a 3 in this era - whether or not that will continue into the new album will be interesting to see
October 14, 20159 yr I dont hold out high hopes for a huge hit single. I would settle for top 40 as in general the handling of their singles is a complete disaster. While i think they needed to release a single with a nod to the sound of their earlier comeback material Take That obviously want the energetic feel to this era and are happy to go that route even though they know its not their most popular sound. I am more holding out hope for the album re-release to do well, combined i want Three to get certified double platinum so if the album re-release can achieve 150,000 sales of thereabouts i would be happy.
October 15, 20159 yr I'd be happy if the new single can reach top 50, never mind top 10. They wouldn't go to no 1 even if 1D didn't release the same day. Without the backup of Radio 1 and Capital and a major tv performance, I can't see it being a hit. If it can sell the album and help get to double platinum, I'd say the single has fulfilled its purpose and I'd be satisfied with that. I so hope that, for their next album, they return to their classic sound.
October 15, 20159 yr Let's see what the song is like. It may be a surprise. I remember a few of us, myself included, hated the snippet of Love Love, but after we listened to it, the majority quite liked it. 1D wise, they haven't really done that well with their singles, despite huge fanfare. JLS have more no1s than they do for example.
October 15, 20159 yr I was lucky to fall in love with Love Love on first listen. A song i remain i love with to this day.
October 15, 20159 yr The re-release has been announced: Includes the #1 album, 4 new tracks, and the physical album includes the Take That Live 2015 DVD. Pre-order tomorrow.
October 15, 20159 yr At last, something official. 4 brand new tracks is wonderful, but not as wonderful as the 9 we received on Progressed. The live dvd is a wonderful addition, will this release register in the album or dvd chart?
October 15, 20159 yr That's a good point! I imagine they will have asked that question to ensure they can boost the Cd sales
October 16, 20159 yr Thought it may have made more sense packaging it with the live album not the DVD - but album sales will boosted now
October 16, 20159 yr Really sad to say this, but this may be the 1st TT single I hate. I couldn't wait for the song to be over :(
October 16, 20159 yr It doesn't have the Take That classic sound to it or anywhere near it either. The Three style of music is the style of music that can be hated by many.
October 16, 20159 yr I actually love it. The chorus is a smash. Getting positive receptions from the younger crowds at Popjustice and ATRL as well :D
October 17, 20159 yr At last, something official. 4 brand new tracks is wonderful, but not as wonderful as the 9 we received on Progressed. The live dvd is a wonderful addition, will this release register in the album or dvd chart? For CD sales, it's a CD + DVD, not DVD + CD. Anyways we got 18 songs with III but 11 with Progress so ofcourse the re-release has less new songs.
October 17, 20159 yr For CD sales, it's a CD + DVD, not DVD + CD. Anyways we got 18 songs with III but 11 with Progress so ofcourse the re-release has less new songs. Will the release hit in the DVD chart?
October 18, 20159 yr I am wondering the same, hopefully its the album chart as we will get sales information.
October 18, 20159 yr I actually really like Hey Boy. The bridge is fantastic and the chorus/post-chorus are catchy as hell. Sure it's not up there with their classics but I'm finding myself enjoying it a lot regardless.
