January 12, 20169 yr Enigma teas being served by song four. Never heard of any of these artists, I look forward to hearing the songs!
January 12, 20169 yr Most of the songs are already on YouTube Rich! wiwibloggs have linked them here.
January 12, 20169 yr Author Apparently some quite big names here including Gregorian, Avantasia (who are power metal apparently Iz and turned up in a SongPop quiz I did today!) and Jamie-Lee (who won The Voice of Germany, as was the case with Andreas last year). Laura's song is apparently co-written by Siegel, which explains why he's left San Marino for this year :heehee: vdnnbdbchFU
January 12, 20169 yr Avantasia!!! Oh god can they please win. That would make my Eurovision to see Germany sending someone like them.
January 12, 20169 yr Add to that Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose sounds VERY epic. Forget Finland, Germany are doing things right this year.
February 25, 20169 yr Author TONIGHT'S NATIONAL FINAL... http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z369/RC741/Eurovision%20Logos/Germany_zps0fcbc930.png GERMANY Unser Lied für Stockholm 25th February 2016 Begins at 7.15pm in the UK, 8.15pm in Germany and Central Europe The show is scheduled to last 2 hours Watch the selection on Eurovision.tv or via the official ARD Eurovision webcast Running Order Click ♫ to listen to each song (for Joco and Laura only previews are available)! 01 | Ella Endlich - Adrenalin 02 | Joco - Full Moon 03 | Gregorian - Masters Of Chant 04 | Woods Of Birnam - Lift Me Up (From The Underground) 05 | ♫ Luxuslärm - Solange Liebe in mir wohnt 06 | Keøma - Protected 07 | Avantasia - Mystery Of A Blood Red Rose 08 | Alex Diehl - Nur ein Lied 09 | Jamie-Lee Kriewitz - Ghost 10 | Laura Pinski - Under The Sun We Are One Voting The voting will consist of two rounds, and both will be decided by 100% televoting. The three songs with the most televotes (or app votes) will progress to the superfinal where the winner will then be decided. Potential Winners? At the time of writing Betfair tells us that current winner of The Voice of Germany, Jamie-Lee Kriewitz, is favourite to win with odds of 1/2. However, following today's rehearsals, Jamie-Lee's three main rivals have closed the gap. Avantasia are second favourites on odds of 3/1, followed by Gregorian on odds of 9/2 and Alex Diehl on odds of 7/1. The rest of the songs are 20/1 or higher so it would be a big surprise if the three superfinalists and eventual winner were not made up from these 4 acts. Guest Performers The guest performance during the show will feature German band The BossHoss performing a cover of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' with 2014 Eurovision runners-up The Common Linnets. February 25, 20169 yr Author I'm massively supporting Jamie-Lee here but despite her odds I'm not sure I can see her winning this as her song is quite subtle and quite a grower and I'm not sure it will have enough instant impact to gain votes tomorrow. I hope she won't do a Madeline Juno, but there are a few parallels between them - although Jamie-Lee has the fact she is The Voice's latest winner and Ghost has been a minor hit, although Madeline's had been too. I think Alex Diehl will probably win this, he's very similar in style to last year's initial winner Andreas Kummert and his song I believe is about the Paris attacks from a few months ago. I really hope Avantasia don't win as their song sounds very dated to me, whether that is on purpose or not, and Minus One totally outshines them in the "rock" stakes. If Germany did go for something alternative I'd be happy with Gregorian, that's different while still being interesting - unlike Avantasia. I haven't really heard the rest and judging by the odds and fan discussions the others have no chance. So my hope is that Jamie-Lee can pull it off - and if she gets to the superfinal she may have a chance especially if she ends up against two "alternative" acts in Avantasia and Gregorian as she may then get the "commercial" votes. But I think Alex Diehl will possibly pull of a Kummert-esque televote domination anyway!
February 25, 20169 yr I need Avantasia to win, it's turned into one of my favourite songs of the year so far, and with its 80s vibes, it's about as commercially anthemic as power metal gets so I really think it could do quite well for Germany. Gregorian I'd accept because it's also quite enjoyable and could make for a fantastic stage show. Jamie-Lee wouldn't really be anything special as an entry and that's what's had the last few German entries suffering I think. Haven't heard any of the others so I'll just take your word for it on Alex Diehl Ryan.
February 25, 20169 yr This is (apparently) the running order for the show 1. Ella Endlich – Adrenalin 2. Joco – Full Moon 3. Gregorian – Masters of Chant 4. Woods of Birnam – Lift Me Up 5. Luxuslärm – Solange Liebe in mir wohnt 6. Keøma – Protected 7. Avantasia – Mystery of a Blood Red Rose 8. Alex Diehl – Nur ein Lied 9. Jamie-Lee Kriewitz – Ghost 10. Laura Pinski – Under the Sun We Are One Don't think that tells us anything we didn't already know, suspect an Avantasia, Alex & Jamie-Lee superfinal is a lock on. Beyond that I don't know.
February 25, 20169 yr Author Yeah it looks that way although there is bound to be one surprise and I hope it won't be Jamie-Lee that makes way for that surprise!
February 25, 20169 yr Adrenalin was right up my street! Should've stuck a key change in but loved it all the same!
February 25, 20169 yr Author I think I loved Masters of Chant, so atmospheric, so captivating! I don't think it will win this selection, but if it did I think that's a Eurovision top 5 contender.
February 25, 20169 yr I bought a compilation last week in Germany called Bravo Hits 92 which features Ghost, didn't make the connection that it was a Eurovision contender until now :o
February 25, 20169 yr Author And our three superfinalists are Avantasia, Alex Diehl and Jamie-Lee Kriewitz!
