February 11, 20169 yr There are talks of a Las Vegas residency for Take That. Is this true? It is still premature and might not be happening until 2017. It's something we're incredibly proud to be asked to do and are very excited about. We're talking a type of show in Vegas that we won't be doing anywhere else in the world and we'll be doing it for a few years, so we're really looking forward to that. I think it's a step forward in the band's career by broadening our horizons and going to a new country. We will be doing a bespoke Vegas show and it will be very theatrical. http://news.asiaone.com/news/showbiz/take-...G0LmVq.xLe85LFi.
February 11, 20169 yr I'd hazard a guess that by residency he means a few weeks or months at most. I really don't believe they'd take up a long term residency because a) their children are still of school age 2) they have other family commitments in the UK and Germany 3) they wont want to ignore their main fan base and 4) these shows are incredibly hard work and time consuming. When touring they normally do two nights on and one night off. A nightly commitment, even without all the travelling, will be very arduous and physically demanding. If the short term residency is successful then I can imagine they might go back for short periods on an annual basis but as for upping sticks wholesale for LV - I find that difficult to believe. If the show is a fantastic success and the financial package is immense - maybe they'd review the situation, but I doubt it. It sounds like it will be a huge extravaganza - a typical, over the top production and that will take big bucks; so they'll be expected to bring in the crowds to off set the cost of the show. Interesting times ahead !
February 12, 20169 yr The Las Vegas shows could be great for the band, but from a selfish point of view im not all for it as it means they have less time to work on producing new material and also promoting any of their material where they are successful such as the UK and Ireland.
February 12, 20169 yr I can see the point you are making and it will have an effect on the work they can do in the UK while performing in Las Vegas. For the group themselves i feel it is something they need to do for themselves and will be a wonderful addition to the story of Take That. Edited February 12, 20169 yr by pippa
February 14, 20169 yr I have no doubt its huge for them and its good for the to do, but i just want new music!!
February 16, 20169 yr If it is true we are receiving a new album this year, a new single would arrive in September i would believe.
February 17, 20169 yr Maybe the Las Vegas shows will inspire them and they'll write a new album during that period. At least that's what I'm hoping. It wouldn't be wise for them to stay away from the European limelight for too long.
February 17, 20169 yr The show could be very creative for them and could really shape and develop a future album.
February 18, 20169 yr I wonder if they'd release around Spring time and then release a second single just before the album...
February 18, 20169 yr That could be a wonderful way to approach the new material and try and have the album launched on the back of 2 hit singles.
